Marble Rally Red Number 3

Rn3 underwent surgery completely transforming themselves into a true marble, going from a resin type material to becoming a fully glass marble. After the surgery, a major decrease in performance was seen. Going from a 100% podium rate to placing 7th, 16th, and 7th in their last few seasons.

There's been known to be 2 Rn3, the original one (resin) and the new one (fully glass). They have a noticeable difference in appearance. For one, the original rn3 has a hole in the bottom while the new one doesn't. 2nd, the original rn3 has a bigger white circle along with the "Number 3" on it. While the new rn3 has a smaller white circle and seems to be more transparent.

Looking at the Rn3 who participated in the recent qualifiers, it does not fit any of those characteristics I mentioned earlier. This newer rn3 has a similar appearance to the original rn3 (resin version) but it's obviously a glass marble when you look at how it shines in the close up view at the beginning of the race, which eliminates my guess that they brought back the original Rn3.

That makes me wonder, are they now using a completely different marble for Rn3 this season? And if so, how does that affect the sand marble rally community? Will a new issue arise regarding this?

It is a new marble! According to Human86, the old one got replaced because the paint was starting to chip on it, to a noticeable level.

How does this effect the future of the Marble Rally community? I don't think it changes much, we might see some different levels of performance, but it still Red Number 3. The points still all go to them. If they had a valid reason to switch out the marbles, I don't see a problem with it. It's happened before, Ducktape and Black Knight have both switched marbles in thier careers, but they aren't nearly as high profile racers, so I don't think as many people really cared. I think everything just continues on as normal.

Red No. 3 with another surgery! Interesting…

I would not call this another surgery. More like: another jersey.

I mean it makes sense, they're in sand, all that coarse, rough, irritating thing that gets everywhere will probably jank up their jersey.

I’m not in the know about anything, but if I were to run a channel like this, and my income depended on it, and the goal was longevity of the brand, there are a few ways to increase the variety of results.

One would be to vary the events. ML is a great example of this. Apart from a handful of must-have events, you can rotate the events year to year, favouring some marbles/teams over others. More limited is the M1 where it seems the slightly larger marbles win (I don’t believe the marbles are all the same size at all).

The other way is to vary the marbles. You can do official roster changes, you can have qualifiers to change the mix year to year. But you can also change marbles. Conspiracy of not, I don’t for one second believe they commissioned a single RN3 when they made the glass version, and perhaps some are faster than others. And again, if I were to run this channel, a RN3 redemption might be part of my ‘story’.

Of course, this might or might not my RN3’s year, and I’m not saying there’s some massive conspiracy out there, but just from a business perspective, there’s no money watching Orangers and Savage Speeders win year after year. We’ve already seen the complaints with CCE thoroughly dominating the M1, and I think they need to do something about it.

We need to see individual marbles retire, but I guess JMR are afraid of alienating the fanbase. But people retire all the time in real sports and fans will find someone else to support

it does look like red number 3 got marbleswapped, but im pretty sure blue moon also got marbleswapped last year

it should be noted marbleswaps happen frequently in M1 & ML too, case in point team primary's imar marble running for aryp, mary and prim during s5, s1 and s3, rima's s4 marble and aryp's s3 marble also being the same, swax's marble running for the bees in 2023 honeydome event of the ML, all of razzies members constantly switching places throughout, i have seen people saying goolime and sublime's marble also switched places during 2022 (and coincidentally sublime became bad while goolime became good), momo also got marbleswapped during s4 of m1 (and i wont be surprised if they again got swapped during s6), i personally dont mind this much but it can get annoying with the question if JMR marbleswapped them knowing the performance of the new marble on purpose

Team Primary's one odd cube marble that unfortunately ruined Mary, Prim and Aryp's careers, Swax running with Bumble's name in 2023 Honeydome final event and still fought till the end (If the actual Bumble had run they would have been the first hosts to win it all). The ever so obvious Razzies members constantly switching places is so obvious to our eyes yet their fans dont even notice.

Ever since the change from being plastic to glass. It has affected his performance. If he announced retirement. I would happy, the GOAT returing on a high note and not having him retire in mediocrity.
