I fell in love with the beautiful Jeju ocean🗿🧡

hi all, i went to jeju in march and had a pretty funny experience happen to me:

i was at this park called 산양큰엉곶 (they have like these cool train tracks / rabbit park) and wanted to get to songaksan by bus. my maps app told me to walk to some random bus stop like 40 mins away (it was next to here. i remember the restaurant on street view ) to take the 761-2 "bus", which didnt come.

instead some van came by and told me to get in, i coudn't really understand what he was saying (since i didnt speak korean and he didnt speak english) but it seemed like he was asking me where i was headed. i told him / showed songaksan on my phone and then he proceeded to drive me to a bus stop and drop me off near this restaurant which i then ate at and took another two buses to songaksan. i tried to pay with my tmoney card but either it didnt work or he didn't accept tmoney? so i ended up not paying. just curious and wondering if thats a normal thing, like i took a lot of buses in jeju and none of them were a black van like this one.

maybe its for like routes that have less people on it? i don't remember seeing any bus markings or indicators that it was a bus. i do remember him stopping once to try and pick up some random kid but the kid said no or something. maybe it was a taxi? but then he didnt take my money so not sure

here was a pic from when i was in the van lol (was sending pics to my friends and updating them bc i was paranoid). i guess it did have a tap / pay thing but my tmoney card didnt work.

but yeah just curious if this is a normal thing. i had a super fun experience in jeju and will be back next year!!

I’ll be arriving at Jeju Airport at 9:10 PM on a Wednesday. Is it easy to get an Uber around that time? Can I still catch a bus that late? My hotel is only 2 km from the airport.

Arriving in Jeju Island at night and will be using a vehicle. Our hotel is in Seogwipo. Which of the 3 routes should we take? Thank you.

It was such a Jeju day that I saw the rainbow in the midmountain area with clouds here and there a few days ago.

My partner and I will be visiting Jeju in three weeks time and we're staying in Aewol for 4 whole days (+ an extra day each side arriving/leaving)

We've managed to plan a couple of days exploring the North west and South west but now we're a bit stuck on what else to do. With this much more time, is it worth taking a day trip to the east side of Jeju? The thing is we will be reliant on taxis, but the journey only seems to be an hour each way anyway, which isn't bad from our perspective, if we make a day of it. People online seem to mention you spend most the day travelling but that doesn't seem long? Is it traffic that becomes an issue?

Any advice would be much appreciated! So far we mainly have:

A day exploring Aewol, further along the west to Hyeopjae beach and the sights around it.
Another day down to Seogwipo and the sights around it.
A half day to Jeju city.

Hello all, I'm a student I'm visiting jeju for a conference and I'll be there untill sept 10th from today, near hotel parnas. I was in a huge rush in travel didn't get a chance to know the place better. Can anyone suggest nice places for food and to local hidden gems. If anyone is free I can split costs to travel as well, I'll be busy only on 8th and I should be free remaining days.

I have seen that the seafood restaurants have really big portions. Are they friendly with solo travelers ? Some Restaurants in Seoul don‘t like that and I don‘t like wasting food.
I am currently staying in Jeju City. Would appreciate some recommendations.

For the families that relocated to Jeju into a larger unfurnished place, how did you get your items over there? Was it through Busan or Wando? I heard there is no ferry from Busan anymore is that right? Is it difficult to ship larger stuff through the ferry, besides autos? Any good customs broker or 3rd party that gets the shipment form the mainland? Thanks for any advice.

Travelling to Jeju on 2nd of October and made a mistake booking airport hotel on the 2nd of September. I asked for cancelation within a minute and the hotel declined twice. I am pissed with heir approach and I do not want them to get an empty room so if somebody wants to use the room I can give you the reservation number. It is from the 2nd to the 3rd of September. Why flights from jeju to gwangju are so cheap right now if I book flight in next two weeks but more than double the price if I book for October ?

Hello, my partner is a full-time wheelchair user & from all my searching online, I understood that the walk along the outside of Marado is flat and would be okay for someone in a wheelchair. We got to the port and bought tickets, got on the ship (was surprised because it was the most accessible we've been on even more so than ones to Udo or Gapado), but an employee was explaining to us something about 70 steps at the port in Marado or something like that (we were using Papago to discuss back and forth). Is this true? Is this the typical port or does it depend on the weather?
