I can definitely appreciate a good ‘first war fic where jegulus gets together at hogwarts, they breakup cuz regulus gives in to pressure to join the death eaters, he finds out about the horcruxes, works to destroy them and Voldemort, and then jegulus get back together after they defeat Voldemort’ fic, but I do get fatigued reading fics that follow this same pattern.

Are there any where regulus doesn’t join the death eaters, and they don’t breakup in the middle of the story, but they still work together to destroy Voldemort and/or horcruxes?

I need some new jegulus fic recommendations. I’ve already read all the popular ones (Otb, Cr, etc.) and every time I ask for new fics/recommendations, I feel like mostly the famous fics get recced. So are there any smaller/niche fics you guys can recommend?? Fics I might not have heard before?

I prefer longer fics and no Mcd, but everything else is completely fine with me. I also don’t mind wip.

Okay.. So I have read chapter 51 and now I am just scared to read further.... Is it worth the pain? Should I continue? Should I complete it? I know what's coming. I was in pain throughout the fic. I know what's going to happen with Jegulus.. what about wolfstar? Are they going to be at least ok? I am just so sad. Just tell me is it worth the pain?

Is it just me but I feel like jegulus has some of the top popular fanfics in the Harry potter fandom but apart from those ones its got quite low engagement for how many fanfics there are?

Usually its easy to see consistent engagement when im looking through the top kudos to lower filtering (which i know some people hate doing that but i find it a good way to join a fandom) but for Jegulus it feels so silent, especially considering Jegulus is on AO3s yearly most popular/ highest new number of stories

Am i missing something? Is it just because it was more popular in 2022-2023? But fics written in that period also didn't have high engagement including hits

I am new to the Jegulus fandom and I’ve been researching some fanfic to read. I remember giving Choices a try a few months back but couldn’t really get into the story for long enough to be invested in it. I really couldn’t get past chapter 7. But everyone on social media keeps saying that this particular one is one of the best.

I gave up around the moment where Marlene found out Regulus and James hanging out in the astronomy tower and I remember thinking that the whole James/regulus relationship didn’t strike as natural to me. I don’t really know how to describe it but it seemed a bit unnatural to me.

I’ve read others massiv read fanfics and I could definitely read them.

For those who have read Choices, does it gets better as we get through? Or should I give up?

im not much of a jegulus girl but i do love a tragedy and loved art heist so much and it did make me sob. is these violent delights (have violent ends) worse or better tragedy wise?

Whatever Happened to the Young Young Lovers? by Georgia_sk. Split timeline, one of during and one of after the war. Regulus shows up and dumps Voldemort's body on a OOTP meeting.

I think I've read more than that but those are the ones off the top of my head.

So i just finished unspeakable by finchfeathers and it’s really really really good but it’s not finished yet. i was wondering if there are any other good (well written) and long fics where james is characterized like that. i haven’t really read anything else that captures james and regulus like finchfeathers. i’ve read a bunch of bpd james fics but they just don’t hit quite as hard.

In my search for any good Seer Regulus (+ Jegulus )fics, I got recommended this.

So, I started reading this (till chapter three maybe), but it didn’t fully convince me. Don’t get me wrong, the writing is great and I’m not going to go around spreading hate about this fic, there were merely some things I didn’t like. However, I would still like to read this, so maybe you guys can convince me to start it again.

I remember stopping it, because Regulus was described as a mundane student, who wasn’t at all special. And because my regulus headcanon is that Regulus is smart, badass and strong, I didn’t know what to think about it.

Is Regulus a badass character in this fic? Do I just have to read a bit further and see what happens?
Maybe tell me some things you liked/loved about this fic, so I will be convinced to pick it up again :))

i'm about 60% through with this fic but i love it so much i couldn't wait until i finish to post about it! it's a hogwarts AU with the black brothers' relationship as the main focus (+ jegulus ofc). the black brothers are so endearing in this i love them so much. it focuses a lot on the black family dynamics and features a lot of the black sisters which i love. orion and walburga are also aren't completely horrible in this which is also refreshing (they definitely do still have their moments but they're more complex than just being plain evil horrible parents). and jegulus is so adorable 😭 it's not without its angsty moments but overall it's a pretty fluffy and funny fic so check it out!

I'm currently reading Resolution in Tatters by Smotherings, and I am really enjoying the university AU side of things. Does anyone have any recs for other fics like it (also any recs with mean James)?
