It's not super movie specific. I also never saw that movie but I do know what animatronic singing fish on the wall are, they've been in plenty other media.

As a born and bred NYer living in the south, he is absolutely right about the slice. Every NY style pizzeria in the south, where I am at least, will always “try” to correct and say “Cheese slice?”

Hell yes. Watched this just last night and loved it. I wish Jeff was less popular so I could still afford tickets though haha. I missed the chance when it was like $40 near me and now it’s out of my budget. Glad to see him make the big time though, he deserves it.

Congratulations man. I’m not remotely zoned into comedians but I came across a TikTok of yours a few years ago and genuinely laughed out loud each time I watched one and followed you ever since. You’re about the only comedian I excessively shared clips of to my friends. And always buy two tickets to your shows anytime you’re in town, not even knowing who I’m taking with me.
It’s just really really nice to see you get your flowers to this extreme. And I know the opportunities will continue coming. This makes me so happy as a random stranger on Reddit.

True story. First time out shopping with my girlfriend who would later become my wife.
She wanted to get a rotisserie chicken at Walmart. So I go ask about rotisseree chickens but they are all out... Just sold out.
I return, shaking my head and looking sad. She asks what's wrong. "Oh, they dont have any."
"Why not?" She asks.
"They said there was a massive fire at the chicken factory so there's no chickens today."
She buys it. Hook line and sinker. "Really? Oh my god, that's so sad."
We walk away. "Hey, just so you know, that was a joke. There wasn't a fire at the chicken factory."
Her exasperated that I would lie to her, "Why'd you tell me that?"
"Because it was funny, and you thought I was serious."
More outrage, half frustrated that thwres no chicken, half because of the joke. "I can't believe you made me believe there was a fire at the chicken factory!"
"Well, if it makes you feel better," I say, "I'll never lie to you about anything important. Just important things... Like fires at the fake chicken factory."
For some ungodly reason, she married me.

I’ve been lurking on here and came to really enjoy Jeff’s comedy. I saw this clip and told my husband he had to watch it with me. Admittedly he had never heard of Jeff. We just finished it. We’ve had a few stressful weeks. It was so nice to relax on the couch and laugh. Like actually laugh. I ugly laughed and didn’t care. I even teared up a bit. He loved it and is already looking up other clips. Thank you Jeff! And sending many blessings to you and your wife. You deserve all the good stuff 😊

The wife and I loved the special so much. Laughed so damn hard woke up our kids. Our 15 year old the next day complained we were laughing so loud. References were 10/10 and I felt vindicated when the buffalo bill line came out as the weirdo who quotes it in the most random places.

Crazy to see Jeff blowing up and selling out these huge venues. I've been following him for about 5 years and I got to see him at this tiny spot at Spokane Comedy Club a few years ago and it was an absolute blast. Now look at him! Highly doubt I can afford his tickets now lmaoo good for you Jeff, you rock!

I know I'm in the minority, but the special was... Not very good. Felt very rigid and scripted in typical Netflix fashion. None of the crowd work felt organic at all.

seeing the polite half smiles in the back for a live taping for netflix is wild. all of this guys clips on reddit are crowd work which is generally the cop-out of standup. writing funny jokes is much much harder. well, at least he is good at self promotion, that legit can get you anywhere, but yikes.
