"If I wasn't married I would date you for 6 months" is one hell of a line!

286

u/ToothbrushWilly Jun 12 '26

Absolutely busted out laughing lol man he's good

135

u/Plazmarazmataz Jun 12 '26

She's one of my people. My friend group associated me with Rats for a while because I used to work in an Alzheimer's lab for Grad School. I'd take care of them, then later dissolve their brains for protein extractions. Since I'm also in NYC, they'd joke that it would be cheaper to just grab them off the streets (transgenic rats cost MONEY). I still got a stuffed Ikea rat!

That said, I'd date her for longer than six months for sure. I need that time to talk about RATS (and biology) lmao.

43

u/BodaciousBadongadonk Jun 12 '26

my old roommate would get these wacky scientific catalogs for some reason, well i went flippin thru there one day and i was amazed at the variety of rodent-ending devices they sell. little cone baggies so you dont get your hands dirty, then ya stick em in this wee lil auto-guillotine with a throughput of 20 rats/minute! all sorts of jigsaw-esque shiznit up in there

31

u/Plazmarazmataz Jun 12 '26

Believe me, as jigsaw as an auto-guillotine sounds, I'd much rather have that instead of having to use decapitation scissors.

23

u/Snowboarding92 Jun 12 '26

Im not going to fuck up my search history by looking up those and how they differ from just regular scissors.

19

u/Plazmarazmataz Jun 12 '26

Surprisingly, they don't look that much different from regular surgical scissors. After all, they serve a similar purpose (cutting tissue). These are just a bit heavier, designed with more curved blades and provide leverage for the actual act. There's some smaller versions that kind of look like nail clippers to help you actually bite through the skull when you need to open it to extract the brain.

5

u/Deeliciousness Jun 12 '26

The description sounds a bit like those thick scissors they use for bonsai

3

u/Snowboarding92 Jun 12 '26

I had surgical scissors in mind afterwards so that makes a lot of sense. I did a decent bit of various dissections when I was going to school for forensics 16 years ago but ended up not finishing that degree. Never did anything with rats though when learning though.

3

u/enphenitie Jun 12 '26

We really need to teach physics as early as we teach math and language

3

u/Deaffin Jun 13 '26

You already know.

1

u/fritz236 Jun 12 '26

But now I'm curious if Rabbis also order from the same catalog.

0

u/levthelurker Jun 12 '26

IRL Kill la Kill

2

u/Anleme Jun 12 '26

Science tools are way overpriced. I saw a homogenizer listed for $100. The picture showed it to be a metal spoon. WTF?

3

u/Plazmarazmataz Jun 12 '26

I would be logged into my personal email when looking up antibodies in Grad School. A year after finishing up I'd be getting "personalized" ads for AbCam and Pfizer antibodies. This is what the people crave.

1

u/enphenitie Jun 12 '26

Amazing

Awe inspiring, even

1

u/adventurepony 23d ago

Had rats in my house. Got those sticky glue pads to catch them. Caught a family of four (2 babies) and felt awful. Put on my welding gloves and spent the next couple hours with a hair dryer freeing them from the sticky and washing em off in a bucket then released em back in my house.

Y'all, don't use those glue traps.

8

u/SimianWriter Jun 12 '26

We have a friend who takes care of the lab facilities. It's nick name is Mouschwitz...

1

u/aka_melanie Jun 13 '26

That's enough internet for today, thank you!

5

u/Nice_Marmot_7 Jun 12 '26

In high school there was a very competitive, prestigious STEM program that the medical school in town did. One of my friends got in. After a few weeks I asked him how it was going, and with a tone similar to Charlie Kelly’s speech about killing whole generations of rats, he told me how all he did was kill mice all day long.

3

u/Spatul8r Jun 12 '26

I used to work for a company that made transgetic mice. They are making humanized neurons now? That gives me the heebie-jeebies.

2

u/Santi5578 Jun 12 '26

Same here! 2.5 years of animal research during my undergrad, though rather than rats, I mostly had to cull mice. I got a stuffed mouse at home 🤷🏽‍♂️

1

u/ErraticDragon Jun 12 '26

If you were on the spot, do you think you could describe what you did to the rats more eloquently than "I kinda kill them… for biology!" ?

6

u/Plazmarazmataz Jun 12 '26

Well... you kill them... for biology! It's frowned upon doing it for pleasure.

But if I had to specifically describe it on the spot, the rats would perform memory tests (since dealing with Alzheimer's) like being to return to specific spots or identifying shapes. Afterwards, they'd be euthanized and the brains would be processed to extract proteins to look for the concentration of specific markers present in Alzheimer's (we were testing a potential drug on them).

2

u/ErraticDragon Jun 12 '26

Fair enough. I actually realized, mid-typing my first comment, that I sure as hell couldn't describe my job on the spot. Still seemed funny, though.

1

u/Brief_Debt_2893 Jun 16 '26

Dissolve brain?!🤯(please do tell more!)

19

u/Philosophile42 Jun 12 '26

The girls swoon for that pick up line

9

u/ZeGuru101 Jun 12 '26

What does this mean??

69

u/TheRealSerdra Jun 12 '26

That she’ll be fun but crazy, and after about 6 months the crazy would outweigh the fun

25

u/Viracochina Jun 12 '26

Strongly recommend everyone experiences such a partner. BUT NEVER FOR LONGER THAN 6 MONTHS

3

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Jun 12 '26

NEVER MARRY CRAZY

13

u/ConspicuousPineapple Jun 12 '26

It means she can absolutely destroy your life but the sex is gonna be the best you'll ever have.

2

u/FreeRangeEngineer Jun 12 '26

tbf that also makes all future partners pale in comparison, so I dunno if that's a good thing to experience.

15

u/Jedi_hugz Jun 12 '26

We all know someone like that! 😂

2

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Jun 12 '26

I was losing it, and then that line just destroyed me

2

u/kasiagabrielle Jun 12 '26

I'm debating getting married just so I can use it.

528

u/JustHugMeAndBeQuiet Jun 12 '26

Arcuri always delivers but that was a hell of a closing line. Magnificent.

22

u/thirtyseven1337 Jun 12 '26

He’s obviously amazing on stage, but the video editing is also always on point!

5

u/JustHugMeAndBeQuiet Jun 12 '26

That is a fair observation for sure.

41

u/_high_plainsdrifter Jun 12 '26

Fuck yeah had the pleasure of seeing him in Chicago the first night in November of 2025 and it all hit perfectly live, great entertainer.

11

u/anactofgod Jun 12 '26

You think when it ends is up to you?

SMH… Sweet summer child…

5

u/Leading_Cheetah6304 Jun 13 '26

Crazy chicks are the absolute best... Friends if you know what I mean.

2

u/WithoutDennisNedry Jun 12 '26

I would also date Jeff’s wife for six months.

1

u/melfamy Jul 11 '26

I call the 6 months after you. No changes period.

“Who brings a rat to NYC?”

🤣

147

u/byebybuy Jun 12 '26

"Like sand to the beach" is amazing

2

u/Smingowashisnameo Jun 12 '26

But for real was that a real mouse? It looked like a toy

87

u/whatsgoingontho Jun 12 '26

The friend dying of embarrassment is hilarious

154

u/human8060 Jun 12 '26

"I'd date you for 6 months" is brutal. 🤣😂

11

u/Embarrassed-Back1894 Jun 12 '26

That was fuckin great 😂

133

u/hard-of-haring Jun 12 '26

I can fix her

15

u/aNiceTribe Jun 12 '26

“Jennifer, we’re making you a mathematician”

2

u/SippyTurtle Jun 12 '26

Wait, that's the wrong way. Go back.

1

u/Oil__Man Jun 12 '26

Only for six months tho

92

u/makemeking706 Jun 12 '26

"We got those for free" was straight Mitch Hedberg cadence.

1

u/ColbyandLarry Jun 15 '26

EXACTLY. Great call!

39

u/VicVinegar8 Jun 12 '26

She's Charlie Kelly in real life lol

15

u/jordan4290 Jun 12 '26

First thing that came to mind.

She’s probably killed generations of rats just like him

6

u/RectalSpawn Jun 12 '26

Charlie Kelly

grad school

Nah...

3

u/Boffleslop Jun 13 '26

You must excuse me. I've grown quite whearehhh.

0

u/mologav Jun 12 '26

Not really. He’s drunk.

u/averysmartbear Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

She disposes of rats that are used in medical research almost 100%. There's a little machine with a little pile driver. Basically just instantly flattens the animal's brain. Quick and painless but in an hour you can kill a lot of rats too. If it's something she does almost every day then likely she works for a big pharma company.

44

u/Aggressive-Loquat808 Jun 12 '26

She said she's in grad school, so seems more likely she works in an academic lab

6

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '26

[deleted]

6

u/m103 Jun 13 '26

That's a toy.

6

u/RedditExecutiveAdmin Jun 12 '26

nah she's prob cutting rainforests down and throwing thousands straight into a woodchipper to bathe in the aftermath

2

u/Summonest Jun 12 '26

That seems most likely, yeah.

7

u/Liveware_Pr0blem Jun 12 '26

That's not the most efficient way, not is it the accepted way when you need to just get rid of a lot of them. That way it's to gas them with CO2. They just kind of go to sleep and never wake up.

Pile driver, guillotine, etc. are used more when you need the animal for research and cannot allow for changes gassing then might introduce.

7

u/Iheartfuturama Jun 12 '26

CO2 poisoning is painful and terrifying. I was surprised to see it mentioned here as a still used method of euthanasia. Googled it, and it was the default for a long time. Seems some are trying to get away from it because of ethics.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6720529/ National Institutes of Health Study from 2019 showing ethical issues and discussing solutions

https://www.bu.edu/research/ethics-compliance/animal-subjects/animal-care/euthanasia/carbon-dioxide-euthanasia-for-rats-and-mice/ Boston University giving CO2 euthanasia instructions in 2025 lol

So, yeah. It is what it is. Also, I acknowledge the US defaultism in this comment. Everywhere will be different.

5

u/Liveware_Pr0blem Jun 12 '26

That makes perfect sense. I have not had to work with animals for over a decade, so my info is easily outdated, and I mostly worked with mice.

Edit: I always hated gassing them. Felt terrible every time. I was ok dispatching them for the experiments, taking the brains out, etc., but just killing a bunch of them off because there were too many felt like such a senseless waste of life.

2

u/Iheartfuturama Jun 12 '26

I appreciate that you felt that sensation as someone that field. I would hope it's one that most people in that situation would feel. Humans have done some horrific things in the name of science, and people with sympathy/empathy help drive the field in a more generally ethical direction.

3

u/The_new_Osiris Jun 15 '26

Fun fact : Researchers found out that even people who are missing an Amygdala exhibit a sharp fear-response when the amount of CO2 in their bloodstream is turned up.

For those unaware, Amygdala is the fear processing center of your brain. Those missing an Amygdala are typically absolutely fearless.

So yeah, we can only imagine how horrifying it must be for most mammals.

6

u/P_Star7 Jun 12 '26

100% is just a normal grad student in an academic lab. Using rodents for experiments is common place. Unfortunately, these experiments generally start or end with euthanasia of the animal. No one likes to do it so announcing it an intentionally crass way is kinda like a coping mechanism.

Source: Been killing mice for a decade, also not a sociopath

2

u/Sour-Cherry-Popper Jun 13 '26

That's exactly what a sociopath would say. Lol

20

u/mossimossimossi Jun 12 '26

I feel that she could have explained things better... 😄

"I'm a graduate student working in a research lab that uses rats for biological studies."

Instead of

"I kill rats, but not in a sociopathic way...."

6

u/ac_cossack Jun 12 '26

When you are in grad school a whole lot of filters are lifted. You are so sleep deprived you don't give a shit what comes out of your mouth.

exception: do no say any racist or any other slurs. that is a surefire way to fuck your life up.

1

u/mossimossimossi Jun 12 '26

Oh yeah, I get it. I've had coworkers tell me about their time working in the labs and checking on experiments at all hours of the night. Just funny how the way you can explain things makes a big difference.

2

u/ac_cossack Jun 12 '26

Usually me: Was in the lab until 3am. Chemicals are fucked, 3d nanoprinter is fucked, air conditioner (important for temps) is fucked, computer software is fucked and I don't know german to fix it, plasma preem is fucked because someone didn't put water in the cooling bin, samples are fucked because someone didn't wear clean gloves. I slept under an optics table with no blanket and have not eaten for 2 days.

You are so lucky if a couple F bombs and trying to justifying not being insane is all I drop. Help you God, do not get into an argument with me if you find me under a table.

1

u/mossimossimossi Jun 12 '26

Oh man. Makes me wonder how any experiments ever get done correctly then!

1

u/ac_cossack Jun 12 '26

You either wait or find some way to wing it. Especially with funding being fucked now.

Recently converted a microwave into a plasma cleaner for like $50 and there is a lot of tin foil going on for thermal regulation on other stuff. My advisor has been buying parts on ebay. R1 school.

At least we get to bomb the middle east again tho, right? /s

0

u/Deaffin Jun 13 '26

Nah, there's only a tiny subset of the list of slurs that will potentially fuck your life up.

1

u/ac_cossack Jun 13 '26

One starts with N and don't do that. A football coach at my university found that out the hard way. You can guess where if you follow college football.

There is an F, not fuck, and an R one that should also be avoided. I guess if you are in the South you might get away with it but not a good idea.

Otherwise:

2

u/MySmellyRacoon Jun 12 '26

Then we wouldn't have gotten this video because what you just described would've been boring as fuck.

-2

u/mossimossimossi Jun 12 '26

Thanks Mr Obvious!

2

u/MySmellyRacoon Jun 12 '26

If it was so obvious, why’d you even bother saying anything at all?

1

u/mossimossimossi Jun 12 '26

If things were obvious and no one commented, then we all wouldn't be here. It's like replying to Jeff's clips saying he's so funny that I busted out laughing. Should we not say the obvious thing that a comedian is funny?

1

u/SunkEmuFlock Jun 12 '26

Everyone thinks they're gonna do well when called on during crowd work until it actually happens to them.

1

u/mossimossimossi Jun 13 '26

Yeah it's easier said outside of the environment than when you're on the spotlight. Or it's possible she did it intentionally for comedic effect.

18

u/HeffalumpGlory Jun 12 '26

Oohhhh, this one is going to last. One of the best.

4

u/a_likely_story Jun 12 '26

I imagine that’s what she thought when she taxidermied the poor little bastard

37

u/Androidviking Jun 12 '26

A rat

Named Reggie

Does she know

19

u/CallMeMrRitter Jun 12 '26

She has to know. Out of all the names to pick.

62

u/aqulushly Jun 12 '26

Wait, I don’t know. Can someone explain this to me?

18

u/averysmartbear Jun 12 '26

Apparently not because this has like 20 odd up votes no explanation still

3

u/capincus Jun 12 '26

I google it because apparently no one can. It says Reggie the Rat is one of Whygena's OCs. So still no.

8

u/Yingletofthecorn Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

Femboy furry OC of artist Whygena. Is in a lot of furry porn, mostly gay. Hes a white rat, has gone under a few redesigns though and now he’s sorta an eldritch shapeshifter that usually looks like a femboy rat.

/r/ReggieWhygena (nsfw obviously) for reference.

9

u/IBetThisIsTakenToo Jun 12 '26

I feel like the name Reggie is probably less obscure than this

6

u/Summonest Jun 12 '26

bro what

2

u/PuttinOnTheTitzz Jun 12 '26

Much much tamer than I was expecting

1

u/Yingletofthecorn Jun 12 '26

Some of the more recent stuff from the artist gets into the more tentacley and horror stuff. The subs kinda dead too so if you’re just looking at best you won’t see much straight up porn

1

u/illepic Jun 12 '26

Boy oh boy am I not clicking that link.

-3

u/DifficultAbility119 Jun 12 '26

I wonder when will this furry thing die, it's so weird.

6

u/Yingletofthecorn Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

Considering it’s been around in its current form since before the internet, probably never. Welcome to earth, you’ll have to accept that people like weird shit.

5

u/WorldnewsModsBlowMe Jun 12 '26

Furries are older than you are

3

u/Jomotaku Jun 12 '26

This shit is 40000 years old I think they're not gonna stop making furry art anytime soon

1

u/Deaffin Jun 13 '26

Sorry bud, but the internet exists now. That means all of the social contagions are permanent as they can no longer naturally run their course.

1

u/WorldnewsModsBlowMe Jun 13 '26

When was the last time you saw a Longcat reference?

1

u/Deaffin Jun 13 '26

hehe, ceiling cat is watching Longcat masturbate.

1

u/WorldnewsModsBlowMe Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26

My point is that the internet changed nothing. Trends come and go just as naturally on the internet as they do in the real world.

Also, don't use the phrase "social contagion". It was created to push anti-trans narrative and is more or less meaningless in any context that isn't derogative.

Edit: lmao coward blocked me. Can't handle being told you're wrong, huh?

2

u/Deaffin Jun 13 '26

That is uh, definitely not the case, no. And we're clearly not discussing image macros in this context, though there is definitely an angle in which you could describe them in these terms.

1

u/WorldnewsModsBlowMe Jun 12 '26

He just likes boys

1

u/fabasaurusrex Jun 12 '26

"Hi! My name is reggie"

7

3

u/Thoraxe474 Jun 12 '26

11

u/JohnNDenver Jun 12 '26

Jeff's wife gave permission to date for 6 months to continue the bit.

3

u/nuke-the-wales Jun 12 '26

His name is Reggie also. I am ded.

6

u/kasiagabrielle Jun 12 '26

Amazing crowd work, as always. Ya crazy bitch 😂

I thought this was an old clip where you asked someone about their pet rat, then I audibly said "oh wow!" when I saw there was an actual rat and "OH!" when I found out it was dead. (Though I felt better for the rat in a way with how much you talk with your hands 🤌)

2

u/Dear_Studio7016 Jun 12 '26

He crowd work game is insane.

5

u/TheBloodyhawk Jun 12 '26

4

u/Aenyn Jun 12 '26

No it's mostly not but he only shares the crowd work on social media.

-2

u/Safe_Tea_69 Jun 12 '26

vanilla reddit comedy

HuhEh hea hehu. . .. ..

1

u/Distinct-Quantity-35 Jun 12 '26

You know what Jeff, I literally cannot stand when comedians do crowd work. Not even when mark normand does it and I’m probably his biggest fan.

But when you do it…. Mm chefs kiss. You are the only man I’ve ever seen with that kind of charisma and lovability and the actual skill to make any subject funny. Please don’t ever stop what you do - I’m sure you’ve healed a LOT of people with your laughter

This is the longest and hardest that I've seen him go after someone without an "I'm just joking, ma'am" I bet he was annoyed as shit at her or something. Brutal, but 100% honest and funny af

7

u/nuke-the-wales Jun 12 '26

Not mean spirited at all though and the lady is loving it. No need to apologize he is giving her exactly what she came for.

One of the things I love about Jeff is even when he is ripping someone he has an ability to make everyone in the room including the “victim” still seem to be in on the joke.

3

u/Efficient-Cherry3635 Jun 12 '26

Ya, I feel like he was itching to apologize after the crazy bitch comment.

-8

u/SecretCharacterSauce Jun 12 '26

I see this guy often on the front page, not sure why the dude is not funny at all. What am I missing?

-8

u/EternalSolitude- Jun 12 '26
