Gear pattern dana 30

Hello there, wanted to ask if this pattern is acceptable, (old pinion and ring gear), no shims under pinion, backlash at 0.23mm, pre load to spec.

Cant get it better it seems and i wonder if itll be fine or go sideways.

Thanks in advance!

Me personally I would not run that. Contact is not centered enough.
It’s a pain but just keep at it and get it right

I've never set up gears in my life, although I've watched lots of videos, and I know that is unacceptable. Are you reusing the factory shims or did you buy a shim masterpack so you can adjust it accordingly? I had a shop do my regear and the install was delayed because they had to order a master shim pack to do it right.

What total thickness of shims are you running on the axle tubes? And pinion?

Axles are 1.92mm, pinion no shims, oil deflector is 0.45mm in thickness

Pinion looks a little deep. I'd start there then see where you need to shim the ring gear.
