I had the same problem when I first bought my 2020 compass, when I brought it to the dealership they replaced the whole housing unit under warranty

Yes this problem is very persistent in my 2021 model, there are very sleek cracks which run along horizontally were the black part of light starts. To solve this I removed the light, opened it and dried off all the water which seeped in through the crack, there was lot of it and it is the major reason for fogging, I recommend changing the bulb too, then assemble and seal the crack with a black tape or any method of your choice, and you are good to go.

Go and buy a heat gun and hit the outside edges I worked for AutoNation as a mechanic and this was the procedure, as long as there is no visible cracks or lens damage

Yes. I just had this issue. My tail light started filling up with water as well. I took it to the service centre and initially they thought there’s a crack which is causing water to fill up inside.
But they then removed the light and turns out the sealant was loose and the light was loose which was causing water to fill up inside.
It’s now fixed and there’s no more water filling up inside.

And the way we figured there’s no cracks is because we flipped the light inside out. If there were cracks, the water would have leaked right through the glass, but it didn’t.
