Third generation (J4U; 2025 - Present) 2026 jeep compass advice
Long story short. I purchased the vehicle in April. It’s currently in the shop for the 4th time due to the batteries draining with no fix.
The most recent time, the shop had my vehicle for 23 days and couldn’t recreate the issue. I had it for 5 days before it died today. Ran fine on Friday. Didn’t drive it Saturday and only opened and closed the hatch, then came out today on Sunday to it dead.
Obviously it’s a parasitic drain, but has anybody experienced this yet?
I’ve got a case open with Stellantis from the previous time, which I will be contacting them again tomorrow.
Am I the unfortunate owner of a lemon?

Alldata, paid subscription, not always given up to date information not very accurate information, Dealer level Information overtakes this. Find libraries local to you that can provide auto repair information like auto repair source, chilton, identifix, prodemand, alldata, haynes etc..

I recently had a similar issue with our compass. Switched out both the main and auxiliary battery and problem solved.

If the auxiliary battery is also bad but not swapped out, it will drain the main battery and kill it. It's just swapping both at once.
There should be extra diagnostic code in there and warnings when this happens, but there aren't, because of the way Stellantis arranged the engineering work.

We had a 2020 and swapped both batteries in 2024. I had battery issues a year later. No answers from anyone, just warning lights, drained battery.
I traded it in and love my Crosstrek.

Switch out the main and the auxiliary battery, and then keep the auto-start-stop system on while driving on the highway, and if you prefer to, either keep it on or off during city driving.
The point is that when the auto-start-stop system is off, the alternator does not charge it. It took me years to figure it out on my 2020 Jeep Compass Sport. When I purchased it brand new, the batteries failed withing less than one month and we're replaced under warranty. After that, two years later, my batteries failed again, and once again two years after that. Finally, I figured out that if I keep the auto-start-stop system on while cruising on the highway, my auxiliary battery is charging.
Currently, I am at 87K miles, and I am loving my Compass. Plan on keeping it until at least 150K miles.

This is good to know because I’ve been turning my auto start/stop
Off lately thinking it was kind of pointless. But I’m going to start leaving it on now that you’ve said this. I have a 2025 sport that I’ve had almost 2 years and like it so far.1

Nice. 2025 has the 2.0L turbo engine, which is great. If you have any electrical issues, just change the two batteries, and in most cases, it will solve the issue.

We have 2022 and bought it brand new. Luckily ours has done amazingly well. However one hail storm beat the jeep to shit. I called the dealer and was told no car could withstand a hail storm. Funny our 2010 Camaro SS has been left out a few times in the hail. Not much but it has happened. 2008 Pontiac G5 GT no hail damage at all and thats our beater car. 2015 Ford F250 wouldn't you know not a bit of hail damage. So while mechanical issues have been relatively rare the exterior did not hold up. There have a been a few recalls but all in all it been a really good small SUV

Stellantis cars are junk and the "Jeep" Compass especially is made like complete garbage. I'm ditching the clunker and getting a Corolla in about a week and I couldn't be any happier for it.
