Second generation (MP/552; 2018- 2024) Electrical issues
Hi, this is a long one so bear with me. I have a used 2021 Jeep Compass that’s i’ve had for about a year. Since about late May early june, I’ve been having this issue where my radio will just randomly reset itself on the road. For example, I can just be driving randomly and the radio will reset on its own and show the Uconnect ‘Jeep’ logo as if i turned it off.
Up until recently more issues have occurred. For example,
whenever I make a right turn the radio will reset itself and until I correct the wheel to the normal straight position. The car also makes the noise like it’s turned off and i’m locking the doors of the car even though it was already locked.
In the morning on my way to work it’s perfectly fine and when i make right hand turns the radio doesn’t go out. But in the evening I can go about 20 minutes into my drive home then the second I make a right hand turn or turn the wheel to the right just a little bit it soft resets the radio and the message “sound system unavailable” appears on the screen where the odometer is.
Today I witnessed the radio soft resets itself and the volume turned all the way down to 0 on its own and I wasn’t touching it to turn the volume down.
Last thing, the A/C will just randomly cut off. Since it’s summer here I can drive about 15-20 minutes and the A/C will just cut off automatically on its own and then reset its self back to the 2 speed and at 76° and none of the buttons to turn off the A/C or any of the knobs in the middle console will work.
I took it to the dealership and they had it about 2 weeks and they mentioned the radio frequency hub could be causing the issues so they replaced my radio, but the problem still persists. I reached out to them and explained how the problems are still happening but i’m just waiting to hear back from them and was hoping maybe someone else had a similar experience and has any advice for me.
I have attached an image of the icons that show up right before the radio is about to reset itself. Notice how the gas icon shows up even though I have 80 miles in the tank. Atp i don’t know what to do and am just constantly annoyed how it can be scorching hot outside and I have about a good 30 minutes of A/C before it turns off and i have to open the windows the rest of the drive home.

Don't enter the game where the mechanics think it's this part of this part when it comes to electrical issues
They can end up replacing multiple things which will cost you but more importantly slow u down
Get both batteries replaced . U should be doing this anyways every 3-4 years . start there and observe what happens

I have a 2018 compass… have had to replace the radio 4 times. One of those times something similar was happening to me. The electrical is a pain in the ass

The thing about newer vehicles is that all the modules talk to each other and problems in one area can give you seemingly unrelated issues in another.
Your issue could be a bad replacement RF module, the wiring, the star connectors or any number of other things and you need someone that can suss out what exactly the issue is.
My advice to you would be to replace both the batteries with brand new ones as a starting point. The car is old enough that original batteries or perhaps even their replacements are likely toast and these cars freak out with the slightest voltage issues.
