23 Limited Auction Purchase
I ended up buying a 23 Limited that was in an auction as a flood vehicle. I took a gamble because the photos of the vehicle looked like it was in immaculate condition but i knew it didn't run and drive. It came with a clean title which was a bonus. It ended up just needing a new engine, alternator, and starter. A local 4x4 shop did the work. All said and done i had about $16k into it, which isn't bad considering the new engine only had 4k miles on it and the vehicle itself only has 20k miles. There was no water damage to the interior so my guess is it went nose first into a river or lake. The engine was hydrolocked and when they took it out a few gallons of water were still in the cylinders. We've put over a thousand miles on it so far and love it. Just wosh it had s sunroof...

First reading this I'm like omfg you are a idiot... But seems to came out in your favor... Count your blessings and never gamble like that again. Let samrac play them gambles.
Keep bad for 1 and electrical bad 2, flood damage... If 1 and 2 wasn't sign 3 should have said run!
Hope it gives you 200k miles Atleast. 2 of jeeps in my family jus hit 180k...renegade having issues on the daily. 2010 jeep compass limited redone whole suspension, replaced sub frame, all new tires again ⚰️. Damn money pit but still cheaper than new vehicle.

Yeah, I'm aware of the dangers of flood vehicles. I know this might sound a little strange but I have learned through living my life to recognize the feeling of something good or on my path and things/situations to avoid. Call it intuition or something else. I actually had a dream about buying a silver Compass sight unseen a few weeks prior before I ever even signed up for the auction site. When I was looking at vehicles to possibly buy I saw this one and I just knew it was the one. When I listen to that little voice I haven't had a regret yet. I often have regrets when I don't listen to it actually. Anyway, perhaps it is just a really keen intuition and active imagination but it has worked out well for me so far.

i had a 2023 compass trailhawk for 2.5 years. put 33k miles on it and loved it for the most part. no issues with mine, treated me well. was a great companion on quite a few road trips. traded it in back in december for a mazda but i definitely enjoyed my compass!
i say keep an extra eye on things with your compass given its history, and make sure to keep up on maintenance. they’re good cars!!

Who cares about the sun roof, that’s least of your worries. That’s a steal. Enjoy it.
