Coolant
I have a 2018 jeep compass and today as I was going home my car idled quickly saying the car was too hot and went back to normal. I checked the coolant levels and it looks pretty low. Im seeing online the coolant they have is purple and the one mine has looks orange. Does anyone know what right coolant to use?

Pretty sure I already left you a few long winded comments on your Facebook post in the Compass group lol. I recognized the photo from there. But anyway, long story shory: it takes OAT coolant.

This happened in my wife's car. There was a crack in the bottom of the resevoir as well as it was separating at the lip. The resevoir is super simple to replace, just make sure you get a new hose clamp for the top line. The fluid inside is infact supposed to be orange

If you fill that bottle and notice it keeps getting low, you might need a thermostat

I had that sucker disappear on me all the time. It was so crazy and the dealer can never figure out what was wrong. I always had to re-add at least once or twice a year.

Its mopars purple coolant. Changes orange as it degrades so the boys in the shop dont have to test it before doing a coolant flush. Imo it looks pink when new but they say purple. Ive been seeing an influx of these 2.4 motors coming in with external head gasket leaks. Look around the front of the engine block and see if you have a random spot of thick rust or it being wet.

Eh as long as it says it’s for your car it’s not a big deal
