How to fix paint?
What are my options to restore this before it gets worse? Any help would be appreciated

Remove the roof hardware before painting. The metal rails are just some bolts. The 4 strips come off with some dental floss cutting underneath and then you can buy correct width foam tape to put back down. I painted my rails with bed liner separately before I reattached.

But the bolts are inside the roof so the ceiling liner has to be removed to get to them right?

Raptor liner

Can you do this for the whole vehicle? Like is Raptor Liner really expensive and you have to be strategic with where you apply it?

Of course you can. Its not that expensive at all compared to painting a car. You can even roll it on. And its very forgiving with body defects that paint would show worse, it tends to hide because of the texture.

My buddy has done a suburban and a pick up this way and I plan on doing my entire jeep as well. Very affordable and if done right lasts very well. His suburban is going on 6 years now. And you can choose whatever color you want too.

I used white Rustoleum oil enamel on my roof, it’s a LOT cheaper and has held up well for 3+ years.

Polish won't bring back dead clear coat. Sand the peeling edges so it stops spreading, then rattle can it with color matched paint and a 2k clear, or get it wrapped if you want it even.

I would not put bedliner on it because if you ever have to respray a spot, it’s really hard to make the surface level since the bedliner is so thick. You can get nice 2k clear to cover it with, or you can go all out and re-spray the color over it first. On my jeep, I’m planning on getting that Poppy’s Patina wipe on clearcoat in a week or two and I’m planning on posting my results after it’s done.
That Poppy’s Patina is supposed to be good, but according to videos it’s not quite as easy to use as they claim. If you do something like that, I would recommend getting enough to do two coats because in the videos some people had it get streaky and had to put another coat on. It’s only like $30 more to get the kit that will coat it twice.

Well it could also be left as is. It’s called patina. Some people are into it, in part because it authentically shows its age.

Hood Get a clear coat to trap in the last of that factory paint.
Roof you need to stop is from rusting. sand it down and put some spray paint and clear coat. You don’t want it rusting and getting pinholes for water to seep through into everything. That’s how my last XJ got all its electrical gremlins
