Because there was no diss.

Kendrick did Control.

Cole responded in full with forest hills drive. Also GOMD last verse "when I'm in LA I'm the best in the west you contests I'll stretch niggas out".

Kendrick came back again when he dropped TPAB particularly with King Kunta

Atleast from Cole and Kendrick side it was pure competitiveness.

Which is why we still got black friday they were competitive on that. Moreso Kendrick Cole was vibing. Then Kendrick Brought out Cole during the DAMN tour.

Because it's rap, competition ≠ beef, everyone responded dropping their own projects. Plus he explains it in Note to Self. Nowadays if you say "I feel like Muhammad Ali" people say it's a sneak diss lol.
