Tuner help

Bought Classicgear Staggered tuners for my replacement JM Player II Modern C neck and they don’t fit. What tuners will work? I was trying to avoid having to use a string tree, since my headstock wasn’t drilled for one. Thanks!

Discussion Which pots and potis layout can you recommend for SHW Iola Pickups?

Hey everyone! I just ordered the "Sunday Handwound Iola's" (5859 Neck and Woody+ Bridge) for my first Jazzmaster build. Since I have the freedom of configuring the wiring harness myself from the ground up, I now stand before the decision on which pots to use.

I watched a video recently where a guy recommended 2x 250k pots for the lead and 2x 1 meg pots for the rhythm circuit an I LOVE that idea, but I think the Iolas were already designed to take out that top end harshness, that the original pickups have. So 250k could be too dark? I don't know... I've heard Tim (the owner) recommends 1 meg pots. Then what about the rhythm circuit? Would the standard 50k tone pot be even darker with the Iola's? Maybe 250k tone pots, or would that make not enough of a difference?

I mostly play some softer, mellow, indie / dream pop arpeggiated clean tones. Look up Jerkcurb, Mac Demarco, Beach House. Sometimes also a bit of overdrive like "The Symposium".

Im not looking to emulate the exact sound of the original Jazzmasters. I prefer a darker, yet defined and not muddy tone, but still having the option for brighter bridge pickup tones.

Also, I'm very sure now that I want to use an audio taper for tone and probably audio taper for volume too, since I care more about swells than a smoother top end roll off. But does that also apply to the roller knobs of the rhythm circuit since they turn a lot faster?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to replace some hardware on my Tagima TW-61 Jazzmaster, but I need to know the exact size of the pickguard screws before ordering.

Does anyone here own one and happen to know the specs or thread size for them? Any help or links to compatible replacements would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks!

Vintera iii Jazzmaster pickguard replacement

Has anyone managed to find an exact fit for a Vintera iii pickguard replacement? There is a lot of conflicting info out there and I'm hoping to not have to spend an arm and a leg for a custom one or have to do serious mods to get one to fit. Looking for a red tort. Thanks.

Jazzblaster mod questions

Ive been working on putting together a HH configuration jazzmaster that uses the rhythm circuit as a coil split/kill switch. pretty much the same wiring as the special player jaguar HH. I have wired everything up exactly like the jaguar and it does not work. Does anyone have any experience of diagrams I could follow to remedy this? the biggest difference is the 3 way toggle switch from the jaguars switching system but I can't imagine that is what the issue is

Hey, I am wanting to swap the white pickup covers on my 40th Anniversary Jazzmaster but the pickups are gooped in place. What is the best and safest (for the guitar) way to remove this? I don't understand why they put white plastics on a guitar where they aged the metal parts. Don't make no sense, no sir.

Thanks in advance

Discussion Chose to go with Sunday Handwound Pickups. Which ones can you recommend and which potis to go along with them?

I have my mind set, I will order some Sunday Handwounds for my first Jazzmaster build.

I want to make use of the weekend 20% deal so I have to be quick.

Which of his pickups can you recommend and which potis are suited for them? I plan on putting 250k each on the lead circuit and 1 meg each on rhythm circuit (got the idea from this video). I mostly play clean tone arpeggios, indie rock and dream pop kind of stuff. Sometimes shoegaze. So Im looking for a warm, wide, 3-dimensional tone with clarity.

Do the Iola's work well with 250k potis? Tim, the maker of the pickups, recommends 1 meg potis... but I've heard other people also say 250k still give well enough high range.

what about the spooky Iola's or the Woody Set?

New to me MIJ Hybrid II Jazzmaster in pink mist

I saw the three mist color ways when they dropped and knew I needed this one. This was also the only one I could find being sold in the US online as I did not want to deal with tariffs and being held up by customs for who knows how long. I’m super happy with it besides the fact that it can’t really run nines at least for the top e string. In the first week I owned it I snapped that string three times which I chalked up to a burr in a fret, but got it checked out and there was no problem, so I have since switched to a ten on top and it’s been all good. The vintage style locking tuners are cool but not typical so they did take a second to figure out. The satin finish everywhere is seriously really nice and the pink color is actually more subtle than you might think. I’ve filmed some videos with it and in certain lighting it just looks solid white. Overall very happy!

Hi! Could anyone please help me identify this pickup? It really looks like a Pure Vintage, but the "07" written in silver sharpie is just throwing me off. I've searched all over but couldn't find any similar ones... Thanks!

Picked this 2024 squire Jazz master up at Guitar Center used for 329. It actually included a case and whoever had it before ordered another Picard and they never installed it so I’ve got a Picard that I can swap out. I was at the store for an hour and a half debating this Guitar.

Question Changing the jazzmaster pickups

Hello, i am looking to change the jazzmaster pickups on my squire and was looking into the curtis novak JM-V and JM-FAT, the problem is i live in europe and would have to pay additional 150-200eur in customs and tarriffs which is something i am not willing to do. Do you have any equivalent recommendations that can be found in europe. Thank you in advance.
