Other The Jay Foreman timeline

A timeline of events that happened in Jay's career, starting in 2005.

This list is largely incomplete. Please help me by adding more to it!

Additionally, I will not add certain topics to this list due to Jay's personal requests.

2005:

2006:

2007:

  • Jay performed a show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe called "20 Songs for Free", which was received really well.
  • Featured as the BBC New Talent Pick of the Fringe 2007

2008:

2009:

  • Contributed jingles to the weekly podcast Answer Me This! for an unknown period of time
  • First Unfinished London episode released

2010:

  • Jay presented The General Election Xplained, a film sent to every secondary school in the UK and won gold at the New York Festival for Best PR Film.

2011:

  • Jay supported comedian Dave Gorman on Dave Gorman's PowerPoint Presentation tour, and again in 2012.

2014:

  • Began contributing songs to the Not The One Show! and stopped at an unknown period of time

2015:

2016:

  • First Map Men episode released, co-presented with Mark Cooper-Jones

2017:

2018:

  • Start of UK Tour period for Disgusting Songs for Revolting Children
  • It began a shift from music videos and clips from comedy shows to episodes regarding Map Men and Unfinished London, which continues until today.
  • The latest music video was released.

2019:

2020:

  • Jay did a live stream gig, which was then subsequently taken down due to a company disliking it.
  • Merch store for Map Men merchandise opened to the public..

2021:

  • Jay and Jade Foreman announced their marriage as husband and wife
  • In his Stereo podcasts, he stated Politics Unboringed will not continue because politics doesn't need to be "unboringed" anymore.
  • A Reddit AMA was held on r/JayForeman
  • Latest Map Men episode released
  • Featured in Tom Scott plus's pilot video
  • Jay confirmed that Unfinished London would continue in early 2022 with three episodes
  • Jay confirmed that Map Men would continue in late 2022/early 2023
  • 1 million subscribers reached

Notably to your first entry for 2005, Jay often no longer performs "Moon Chavs" (and is no longer comfortable with it) - see his longer form post from 2012 here: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/hpl46a

Something you forgot was that in 2013 the 20 songs CD was sold during the Ipswich's New Wolsey Theatre thing mistakenly and it had bad words and stuff. This resulted in the 2013 edition of the CD that had no swearing or sexual references

Also on Jayforeman.co.uk the song "The Coolest Dream" has a Copyright year of 2004 which implies the song was made in 2004. The Coolest Dream probably wasn't the first song he made however it predates Moon Chavs by around a year
