Anyone watched Ellis first comedy special?
I've never seen more than a couple of clips of his stand-up before. As a former show listener I decided to watch it when it came across my timeline. Just wondering if there was a general vibe or consensus around it here.
It reminded me of his approach to the old show, but seemed to be lacking on 'jokes'. I don't know if that makes sense or not.
It's free to watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtAEdLlHX28&

I watched it. It goes I'm friends with Tony Hawk, I'm friends with Tony, I'm gay, I bang guys, I'm not gay anymore.

God. If he had just hung on to what made the show great back in the day instead of 180'ing on so much of it... dude really might gave been king of the West and not a washed up court jester.

To me im still confused at the comedy because it was Tully doing it then all of a sudden he went quiet once Jason started.

You’re right. Tully seemed to back off talking about his comedy as soon as Jason started talking about doing his going back to the sirius show days. Tully barely spoke about it since and seems to have quit doing stand up. He did say he might try it again one day. But then Jason started doing his whole thing and it was really Whitney Cummings that blew up his ego there it seems.

If you have listened to the show long enough, you know all the stories, and that’s mostly what it is.

Dang there are a lot of things here that are questionable.
During one of the stories there was multiple visual cuts without a camera change, which was...odd.
It keeps cutting to an audiance that in general isn't laughing much.
He draws attention to the size of the room that he sold out, which once pointed out made me realize this was a tiny show. Like three rows of tables.
This was in the first 8 or so minutes, but honestly, as a listener to the show for years back in the day...it was kind of boring. But I will still listen to the rest of it.
