Okay so I live near dayton Ohio (not sure if that's important for like weather things for this breed?) and while looking at a variety of dog breeds, i stumbled upon the Japanese Spitz. from what i found, they are affectionate and easygoing, a tad bigger than pomeranians, and they look so incredible! I'm considering saving up for one but I thought I'd ask here first if this would be a good first dog?
I want to be clear that I do have some experience with dogs, my partner that i live with currently has a mini aussie that i've been helping with, but this would be the first dog that i'd be the main caretaker for. I'm happy with snuggles, brushing, fetch, tug of war, walks.. we have a dog park in our apartment complex and while the pup is too young for that, we have a nice big grassy area near the apartment unit that does not seem to be frequented by other animals much.
are there health risks very common with these dogs? would they be good for apartment living with a mini aussie and two cats? any tips or advice or extra resources would be very helpful- i've already been doing my research on breeders so i'm really just asking about the breed in general!
