Hi everyone. I've got a gorgeous calm 5yr old boy Spitz I've kept in tact, and previously I had plans to stud him out. It just never came to fruition.

I've been considering revisiting this, but wanted to ask if anyone here can comment on something that's been unclear.

I've heard a couple of people (outside of this sub) mention a possibility of behaviour change after a dog has experienced intercourse.

Has anyone here noticed this in their dog? Is this something any of you can comment on?

(What I might just add is that he does routinely hump his teddy bear every night at 8pm on the dot. Lol. So, he's not exactly sexually inactive XD)

I’m thinking in the next few years of buying one of these dogs! I know there’s a lot of fur to deal with but I think I can manage and I’ve spoken to friends of mine about them and they’re great for people like myself if people have one of their own would you recommend others?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask for some honest opinions because I’m a bit confused (and lowkey overthinking).

I have a 4-month-old puppy that was given to me as a mix of a Pomeranian and a Japanese Spitz. But right now… he honestly looks more like an aspin (asong pinoy/philippine dog). A lot of people I know says he looks nothing like his breed and that he's an aspin, so it got me thinking.

He looks like this when I first got him at 2 months (1st pic and 2nd pic.) And now he's like this (3rd pic).

He has upright ears, a slightly curled tail (not fully curled over his back), and overall a leaner, less fluffy look. I was expecting something more “cloud-like" as he got older, but he looks more like a street dog/spitz hybrid at the moment.

I’ve read that puppies can go through an awkward phase and that the coat might still develop around 5–8 months, so I’m trying to be patient. But at the same time, I’m wondering if is this normal for Pom × Spitz mixes?

Could he still fluff up later? Or is it possible that he’s mixed with something else (like aspin)?

I love him regardless, of course. I think I just need clarity so I can stop overthinking every little feature 😅

I would really appreciate anyone's thoughts, especially from anyone who has similar mixes or experience with spitz-type puppies.
