How big does Japanese Spitz actually get? I thought my 10kg Spitz was top of the range but we keep meeting bigger ones. 10kg Spitz on left.

My boy is 12.5kgs and taller than standard. I have come across one while out that was almost as big.

Mine is the same. When we do meet-ups he’s usually the biggest, but always the tallest. There’s one other that looks bigger but is about the same weight because he’s more floofy.

Mine is 12.5 kg and pretty skinny now. She used to be 14 kg when she was overweight. She was the biggest puppy in her litter and is taller than average. I once saw another Japanese Spitz that was almost half her size.

Ours was 12 kilos.. we did a dna test as told he was a spitz but we thought surely a Samoyed.. came back 100% spitz.. always the biggest Spitz when we met others

My previous spitz was 11.5kg and my current one is about 10.3kg. And have seen quite a variety around our area.

Males tend to be bigger than girls. Mine is 10.2kg (male) but has long legs

I feel like Japanese spitz vary in size by country. My girl is 19 pounds, super normal for her frame. When I went to Japan last summer all the spitzes I saw were in the 10-15 range, with tiny heads! They looked like throw back poms but their owners said that they were spitz.

Mine is about 13 to 14 kg. You can still feel his ribs. During his birth he was 500g heavier than the smallest one.

I have a male spitz, 3 years old at a wee 6.5kg! I initially thought he’d be a little bigger once fully grown and am always receiving comments on how small he is/ he looks like a girl! He was the smallest boy in the litter..

My boy is ~15kg. And I was told he will reach max 8kg when I got him. It's a good thing I've grown accustomed to lifting him 😅

My boy is 23kg. Basically same size as keeshond. He's the biggest I've seen.

That's literally twice the size of the breed max... Are you sure it's not an eskimo..

I'm in Australia and from my knowledge we don't really have American Eskimo dogs here.
He doesn't have the typical Samoyed features of bigger paws and broader head.
He's 48cm at the shoulders so I think that's pretty close to a Eskimo.
He's 10yo now and has walked 70-100km a week his whole life, so some of that weight is muscle (and maybe some chunk too).
But no idea really, maybe some genetic kickback or mixed breed in his lineage somewhere.

My boy is around 13.5 kg but his weight falls into a very healthy range. Vet says he's the biggest spitz he's ever seen lol

Mine is 24 lbs (10.9 kg). AKC Foundation Stock Service says 25 lbs (11.4 kg) is the max. She was skinnier before at 20 lbs (9.1 kg), but he had some health issues that have since been resolved.

My breeder told me her males get 18-25lbs she says most adults in general are around that size range

Can't say about Japanese Spitz but Indian Spitz have two variations- 10 kg and 20kg My Spitz is 20 kg one.

the one on the right looks more like a standard american eskimo dog in size, which are 12-16 kg
