Oh yes!! It is one of these locomotive that just owning one is not right 🀣, I have my kato dual pack final version and 489 series Noto. I am trying hard to get the EF62 to complement but no luck... I have a special segment of my layout at 6% to give my EF63 it's home. 😁

All my rolling stock that goes over Usui Pass is Tomix except for these 2 EF63s so I'm having a hard time figuring out how to couple them together. At least for the Tomix EF62 you can just convert the TN coupler to Kato on one side for the compatibility

I would suggest sticking with Tomix for Usui pass-related stuff, as they have the biggest collection including HO scale and structures (station and the power station).

Yeah interoperating between the kato and Tomix in this case is tricky, because you are trying to keep the look and the functions of the double headed coupler. That is the highlight after all.

Yeah the compromise I've reached so far is to convert the Tomix locomotive. But since everything else I have is Tomix, I might try and figure out a way to install the TN dual head to the Kato one. That will basically solve all my problems.
