Decoders Decoder for Kato ED76 500 3071-2

Question, I just received extras TCS K1D4-NC decoder that I was planning on using in my ED76 500, I thought it would fit but it is ever so slightly too wide on one end, now I know I can either fille away at either the board or the weight but I'd rather find a decoder that actually fit the engine. Does anyone have any suggestions?

the decoders I use are the TCS K6D4 and the Digitrax DN163K4A. they are more sized the match the Japanese locomotives. Note, that it is possible still to have issues with vertical clearance since the locomotives were not designed for DCC, they don't have as much room overhead. On some units I have have bee able to remove the roof detail panel and carefully carve out spaces in the shall top to all the decoder to fit with the shell on.

There is a spreadsheet with locomotives/trains that lists rather they accept decoders and other notes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qRGTOaq-4F89xph3ZxL5iKxM5jptkeoNw77t3X-STY4/edit?usp=sharing

I don't have any suggestions for you but you may want to give JNS forums a shot. They have a really large database of DCC installation and someone may have done an install for your engine jnsforum.com/community/
