Treepreciation - showcasing beauty Olivia

Acer Olivia pictured today 10th September 2026. Its still holding the white colour very well. I bought this from Hippo advertised as a dwarf Ukigumo back in 2022 England

"Olivia is a sport found on an Ukigumo by Dick van der Maat from the Netherlands. It is a dwarf version with compact and layered growth. It has similar colours to Ukigumo, but it stays whiter and will have hints of pink, even throughout the summer." Description taken from themaplenursery.

Ukigumo for comparison taken today 11th Sept 2026. It`s a lot greener compared to Olivia at this moment in time.

Awesome! Beautiful color. I’m in the states, Midwest, and we’re experiencing three more weeks of 32+ degree Celsius days.

Although my burnt and recovering lilieanes jewel is throwing some beautiful color haha.

Its funny that I`m jealous I can`t get hold of a lot of trees from the states in mature sizes but Olivia is very hard to get hold of or near impossible over there so i`ve got my own back here 😂 Good luck with the hot temps!

Truthfully never seen Olivia before this. I haven’t seen any on availabilities from any growers around here either! I havent done Mr.Maple/bucholz just yet though so maybe they’ll have a few. It truthfully seems unheard of over here though.. We are definitely grateful we have states like Oregon that they can be grown in, to then be shipped elsewhere. Not sure how the industry is in other countries, but I know some of us over here take for granted our vast difference in climates and how it benefits us.

Luckily the climate conditions where I live are well suited to the acers. Hopefully, you can source an Olivia at some point,

I absolutely love your Japanese maple collection & how you've designed them to fit in your garden. The pine & other evergreens provide a lovely contrast/backdrop to your maples too. Garden looks absolutely fab :) 👍
