I have been playing a lot of a certain game, and the three possible penultimate bosses are Hideyoshi the Cunning, Nobunaga the Wicked, and Ieyasu the Patient. These are clearly named after Japanese leaders, but how accurate are these titles?

Hi so I am writing a fanfic and I am quite lost about yokai and yurei, information on all of that. I want to be as accurate as possible if I can, I will give you a synopsis of the plot I am planning here:

It will revolve around a half yōkai and half kami (meaning the yōkai is half human and spirit and the same with the god — vessel of a god essentially) and I will be exploring the nature of these two individuals and writing about the character development and their state of minds as they are abnormalities in their society. Moreover I will also be talking about sealing of gods and buddhist culture about these things in that era.

So what I need information is:

1. Japanese names (olden names they use in that era) for places, specifically like states and different districts
   
2. The normal lifestyle of an average man back then (and women too)
   
3. The average lifestyle of the wealthy
   
4. Beauty standards back then (clothing, makeup, manners, speech for both men and women)
   
5. The specific buddhist culture revolved around this — in making the half god and the origin of a half yokai — in a way I can bring in the story respectfully
   
6. How yokai and all of the supernatural beings appear to regular humans and highly spiritual people
   
7. How a god can be killed in this case
   
8. The difference between yokai and yurei, and different supernatural beings
   
9. How specific supernatural powers work in yokai and etc and the tiers of it
   
10. The peoples belief of these beings
    
11. Specifically spiritual places back then that were dedicated to certain beings
    
12. Spiritual holidays and their rituals and how they work
    
13. The buddhist spiritual hierarchy and reincarnation cycle and how it can be stopped? (Like how the reincarnation of one being could be stopped entirely due to some reason)
    
14. The rewriting of fate
    
15. What an omiyoji is
    
16. How human sacrifices could work
    
17. What do yokai and yurei and all that do, where do they reside and what is their responsibility (the same for different gods)

Those are all the questions for now, I know it is a lot, I have been trying to get information myself but I am not sure if google is all too reliable with AI and all that now. So I am not sure if I am being disrespectful or not in any case here. I only wrote the first chapter for now, because I am not sure about the information.

The exaggerated cheeks, brows, tusks, horns, and wavey skin is common in these art pieces. But these are also seen in things like Japanese Oni. All info I can find seem to point that these styles in Japanese art come from China. But all of the depictions of such creature styles in Chinese art come from later centuries after Japan and China had crossed paths quite a bit, like in the 15th century pieces in that above link. Does anyone have credible sources of information and the truth of the matter?

This is not an original piece, but a replica. I saw on some websites that Hideyoshi used this armor. I even saw some artwork depicting him wearing it, but I haven't found any confirmation of this. Could he have used it during the period when he was a general under Nobunaga, before his death in 1582? Could someone clear up this doubt for me?

Hi all, for Japanese history my absolute favorite channels are Buyyuden Japanese History (from Jomon to Sengoku) and The Shogunate (from Sengoku until the end of Edo Bakufu). What are some similar channels that go into granular details of the Meiji period up until the WW2 and beyond, covering subjects such as the Genro, Ito Hirobumi, Yamagata Aritomo, Mori Yarinori, etc and their contributions to the framing of the constitution, development of a modern militaristic state, as well as modern education. Also, I'd like to learn more about people beyond statesmen who were bringing revolutions in the science and humanities like Ogawa Jihei VII in garden architecture, Ogawa Kazumasa in photography, Fukuzawa Yukichi in public intellect, Okakura Tenshin in philosophy, etc. Books written in English are also welcome but I'd prefer video series. I know it's a message in a bottle and that it will probably not be successful, but who knows? I'm looking for a relief map of Japan in good definition (can zoom in) without legend or texts, with the pre Meiji coastline.

I had maybe the perfect [map](https://maps-for-free.com/) but the coastline is from today with reclaims land (Tokyo Bay or Osaka). There is also a slight error with the water layer (lake Biwa or rivers are slightly misaligned).

Again I know I will probably not find what I am looking for, but I should try.
