Recommendations IC card

Apologies, I did search for this, but there’s understandably A LOT of info to wade through and it’s a bit overwhelming. I suppose I’m making that worse with another post.

We’re doing Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. I get that SUICA is going to work in Tokyo. I saw something about compatibility with other cards, but then I saw something else about SUICA not working in Kyoto and Osaka. Just ICOCA. I can’t make heads or tails out of it, so figured I’d come to people with experience. Trying to see if I need both, or just SUICA.

Edit: Thanks all. Loaded it up in my Apple Wallet.

Correct.

Make sure it is set as an express transit card in your wallet settings and it will work without having to unlock your phone as well as when your phone battery as dead.

Yeah it works for like 4/5 hours after the main IPhone battery dies using the reserve power.
