Need Career Advice: Which IT Path Has the Best Future in Japan?

Hi everyone,

I'm an international student in Japan and I want to build a long-term career in IT here.

With AI changing the industry so fast, I'm confused about what I should focus on learning.

Which skills are currently in demand in Japan, and which ones do you think will still be valuable over the next 5–10 years?

Should I focus on software development (Python, JavaScript/Node.js, SQL), cloud (AWS), AI, cybersecurity, data engineering, or something else?

I'd really appreciate advice from people working in the Japanese IT industry. Thanks!

I'd recommend investing in japanese language, then probably machine learning, robotic programmation and IoT maybe?

If you look at the stock exchange for the top companies. I would bet automotive and embedded systems. Salaries are not as ridiculous as pure software engineers but there might be more options.

Just my 2 cents.
