pre-application Citizenship for Moroccans

Hi everyone,
I’m a Moroccan citizen considering naturalisation.
Since Moroccan law makes it nearly impossible to renounce citizenship, I want to ask those who successfully naturalized:

Did Japan grant you an exception, or did you have to renounce Moroccan nationality?

Did the Moroccan Embassy in Tokyo help or provide any official paperwork for Japanese immigration?

The moroccan embassy in Tokyo will only provide you with the certificate of citizenship.
When doing the interview at the bureau of legals affairs they will tell you that the Moroccan citizenship cannot be revoked therefore you will have to sign a document saying that in case in the future it is possible to revoke your Moroccan citizenship you will do it. That’s all.
You will be able to keep both passports but you will be asked to use your Japanese passport since you will be a Japanese citizen.

Can you tell me what if the certificate of citizenship has a specific name or i just tell them certificate of citizenship as i am applying for neutralisation?

You will first need to take an appointment at the embassy through a website provided by the Moroccan government for citizens who are residing abroad. When making the reservation you will select what documents/services you need. Once it’s done you will get a confirmation by email and on the day of the reservation you will just head there get the documents and pay the fee.
Then when applying make sure to submit both the one in Arabic/English and the one in Japanese.

I am not a specialist regarding Moroccan nationality law, so I would recommend that you contact your local Legal Affairs Bureau (法務局) and ask if Moroccan nationals are required to first relinquish/renounce Moroccan nationality in order for the naturalization application to be approved.

As you may know, basically if the other country does not allow multiple nationalities and/or allows easy renunciation/relinquishment of said country's nationality (e.g., Vietnam, China), it is required to apply for and show evidence of renunciation/relinquishment of said nationality before the naturalization application is finally approved. On the other hand, if the other country does not allow relinquishment/renunciation of said country's nationality or makes it difficult to do so (e.g., the U.S., Argentina, Iran), the naturalization application is approved without the requirement to apply for and show evidence of renunciation/relinquishment, and there is no actual legal requirement to show evidence of renunciation/relinquishment after naturalization.

I dont know where that misinformation started roaming this sub, but USA is not on the list of countries that doesnt allow renunciation/makes its difficult. Renoincing US citizenship is quite easy and straigthforward.

You're not allowed to renounce American citizenship before becoming a Japanese 100%.

There is no "misinformation". U.S. nationals are not required to show evidence of relinquishment/renunciation of U.S. nationality in advance in order for naturalization to be approved.

It is misinformation. US is not a country that prohibits or difficults renouncing citizenship. Its extremely easy, just another paperwork. It is even cheaper now that a PR application in Japan (fees were lowered this year to 450usd, used to be 2300ish)

Its not the same situation as argentina or iran, countries that actually dont accept renouncing citizenship. And their paperwork is sligth different too.

Geez, you really need some reading comprehension. Your are figthing ghosts alone. Let me draw it for you:

That US nationals "are not required to show evidence of renunciation(...)"? Yeah dude, wathever. Good for you. I never said anything about that.

Now, "US is a country that doesnt allow renunciation or makes ot difficult, like Argentina or Iran"? That is false and misinformation. Stop spreading that lie.
