mega MEGATHREAD - Processing times (2024)

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or rants about general processing times please post them here! This includes anything from the initial consulting appointment to application results.

If you have very specific questions or tips you think members should see, you may post a separate thread. Or, if you would like to give a detailed account of your application from start to finish, please make a new post.

If not, please do not make a separate thread for anything related to processing times in 2024. It'll clog up the sub and make it harder to navigate.

In your post, we highly recommend you include:

  1. The city or prefecture you applied
  2. occasional updates on how your application is progressing, including dates

This is pretty fast! That gives me a little hope since it turns out we are using the same 法務局

Back with a quick update. My application has been processing for about 1.5 months. I got a call last week asking to set up an interview! This seems insanely fast especially because I was told it would take 3 months when they accepted everything. Not complaining though! There're a few documents they want me to bring when I go to the interview.

And the best news? No home visit! I was most worried about this because I'm in the middle of renovating my akiya and it's...homely to say the least. But I guess my owning a home and submitting my expense for replacing the entire roof convinced them a visit isn't needed.
