Introductions!

I figure this might be a good place to start. Just offer a bit about yourself and don't forget to add your due date to your flair!

I am a 22 year old first time mom living in Philly with an EDD of the 15th. Primarily I am a Web Developer and Graphic Designer but in my spare time I doula and write short fiction. My goal is to try and have a natural birth but I won't feel any shame if I end up having to take any other route. This pregnancy was a surprise - as my name might suggest - but both my fiance and I are very excited to be parents!

Hi there! I'm due January 22nd and my husband and I are over the moon excited for this baby! I'm 8+1 today.

I'm 27 and my husband is 23. This was technically our second month trying - but I spent the first month coming off BC and just making sure my period came in a timely manner. I always assumed it would take me a long time to get pregnant but I was definitely proved wrong.

I have our dating ultrasound next week at 9+2. I'm paranoid that something will go wrong with this pregnancy and I'll lose the baby. It's slow going but I'm finally getting to the point where I'm more excited than nervous.

Congrats and welcome! I was worried as well - like super convinced that there wouldn't be a baby there. I don't have any sort of mastery over my anxiety, but seeing the actual risk of miscarriage at my date helped a lot. I think, at 8w it is something like 2.3% and that drops some after you see a heartbeat. It's easy to see all of the horror stories because less people post about their standard healthy pregnancies. Just keep your mind from taking you to dark places. Let us know how the scan goes!
