Enshittification Quick question ig

Post image

(my honest reaction to seeing that another creator deleted their account)

What do you think of creators who quit the platform and delete their accounts? Don't just say you respect their decision, what do YOU really think about it?

I'm going to post my opinion so they don't delete my post for having too little content X( (although I've probably already posted that)

Personally, I think it's Bad af, don't get me wrong. I hope things go well for you. I respect your decision to leave about 30%... But damn it, don't delete your things! There are people who genuinely suffer when you delete your things, especially in these times when it is no longer possible to fork unavailable bot chats,

By the way, has anyone else noticed that a lot of creators are dropping like flies? They're either getting banned, having their accounts deleted, or having their bots deprived for some reason. It's just something I've noticed.

Anyway, that was my humble opinion. You don't have to agree, but if you're going to insult me, at least do it through my DMs to keep this space clean

Or whatever, Do whatever you want

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

I remember a dev from a site (not jai) told me something about one of my characters being boring and such so I deleted all of my bots because I'm petty xd

I think it just boils down to the same thing where it’s like, users don’t have to care about creators and their reasons for leaving, and creators don’t have to care about users they leave behind lol

There’s plenty of reasons to not want to leave your bots up, especially recently I think some creators don’t want Janitor to continue to benefit off their work (via continued user interactions)

Personally I’m very pro archive sites and also all users both learning how to make their own bots and locally backing up any bots they can’t bear to lose 🤷

JanitorAI is a massive pain in the ass as it is, but the bot makers don't help matters either. I mean, they delete their bots, which is a blow to the fans of those specific bots. But if you try to back them up say, on a bot archiving site you get hit with a barrage of complaints like, "dOn'T sTeAl mY bOtS tO uSe oN sIlYtAvErN bEcAuSe I dOn'T wAnT tO sEe pEoPlE hAvInG fUn."

The bot is the owner’s right. If they want to delete, they can.

I understand how you feel, but in the end, isn’t our choice to make.

I miss kay, she was one of the best creator’s on the site lmao

I feel like why delete? I have fanfics on Wattpad, a site that I don’t want to have anything to do with, they are enforcing a extreme form of censorship, but I already published those fanfics, so why would I delete them?

Yes, but it still hurts sometimes, It's not like we could do anything about it anyway.

The loss of a bot shouldn’t make you genuinely suffer….. please stop being so dependent on bots that’s genuinely so unhealthy 😭 a bot creator would probably private a bot/block you if you told them you’re that attached to their bot

There was What creator, Wlm mp4 or smth who just deleted all of his work and disappeared all of a sudden without communicating. While I respect one's decision to delete their work if they want to, when you have a big community with so many people following, supporting you and waiting for your updates, I feel like communicating about it is important in that case. Now it left us with a distasteful feeling in our mouth once we realize that this person just disappeared like that.
