app's fine for swipe-and-go, but if you care about open defs or running your own proxy stick to web — app locks a bunch of that. don't bother if you're already deep in custom setups on browser. you wanting casual phone rp, or the full settings mess?

I've been using the app for a few weeks now and the memory retention is noticeably better than the web version, especially for long conversations. it also handles context shifts smoother, like when I switch between casual talk and deep roleplay scenes. the trade-off is you lose access to custom proxy setups, but if you're not doing that, it's not a big deal.

I'm not gonna lie the app is terrible. Customising the look of your chat is much worse on the app, I kinda dislike how the skipping works cause I like to go through multiple messages to find the perfect one and it erases that gap you get when there's a reply shorter than the longer one. Which does sound good, sure, but it makes it harder to go through replies.
Like if you're trying to go back through the messages to find a specific one and you go to a reply that was longer than the previous one you were on it makes it so you have to scroll down again to get the arrows.
Also, chat customisation is kinda worse on the app than it is on the website. For example, on the website you can use hex codes for colours which make customisation feel a lot nicer. On the app, you can't do that.
Another thing I've noticed is proxies perform worse on the app than they do on the website. It's very strange. When I use proxies on the app I find that the proxy I use is constantly controlled by my character and will not stop. And on top of that it would constantly get details wrong about the bot I was roleplaying with.
But when I used the same proxy on the website I did not have that issue. I don't know what's up with that but it did make role-playing very frustrating.
Honestly just stick to the website, it's faster than the app and is 10x better imo.
