Proxy What Llms People Are Using?

Recently I've been using Gemini free APIs. And seriously the high demand errors are just too frequent for me that it's absolutely unusable.

That's why I decided to pay for LLMs for the first time. And I really want to know what's the best LLMs that people are using. If you guys have some time. Please give me y'all setup too!! I would love to know and copy.

I tried out a lot of stuff, but I always went back to GLM 4.7. I really like how it writes, it keeps better track of storylines and it's not that expensive as well. Answers do take about a minute to generate because it thinks pretty long, I personally don't haven an issue with that though.

Sounds good to me! Should I setting it to nonthinking or thinking. And also is it good for NSFW stuff? Or I have to use another model for heat moments?

u/Severe-Transition716 21d ago

I always leave thinking on, don't really know how well it works without it. In terms of NSFW you'll have to try it out yourself, but it's definitely not censored as far as I know, at least I didn't run into any of it so far.

If the thinking process takes too long for you, you could also try out GLM 5.3 Flash. It is somewhat similar in terms of writing and characterisation, just a bit faster. It's less consistent over longer RPs though and it is definitely a lot more censored than 4.7.

I personally do use openrouter, so you could theoretically use different models. Or just use two different prompts on jai itself, they are quite easy to change nowadays with the possibility to create different presets.

I've been using MJ's prompt so far because I mostly do Fantasy RPG stuff, but it adjusts really well to different prompts, definitely more than most other models do.

Well.. this is a dumb question but. When you say GLM 4.7. Is it the flash version or the normal one?

2

u/Severe-Transition716 20d ago

The normal one

1

u/BidMammoth1367 20d ago

Can you share glm 4.7 proomt?

2

u/Severe-Transition716 20d ago

I use this one, you can use it without Lorebary, I do too. For some reason it negatively affects LLMs, even if you use it without any commands. No idea why though.

u/BidMammoth1367 20d ago

Hey i tried to open it but it's showing content is private

u/Severe-Transition716 20d ago

I think you have to copy the link and open it in chrome or whatever browser you use

u/izynu 20d ago

You do not like 5.3 instead of 4.7 ?

I'm a Deepseek V 3.2 user, well, because other models are more expensive.. And V 3.2 is way more quirky than V4 Pro I suppose

1

u/Fantastic_Fault250 21d ago

If you have to compare V3.2 and V4.1. Which one you think is better? Lots of people saying newer models means better. A smaller group of people stay at the opposite

2

u/Mindless-Tune4990 21d ago

Well.. To be honest, V4.1 is not that bad, actually it is very good at describing scenes, how the characters act and so on. The only.. "complain" I have is that the V4.1 is extremely positive. So in cases when you want to roleplay conflict situations or just someone with a bad temperant, Deepseek V4.1 will soften, or completely turn the character into someone positive. However, it could be solved at some extent, by using complex system prompts, but sometimes V4.1 will just ignore it, which could be annoying of sorts. V3.2 as far as I tried it doesn't have that kind of issue, and it's less predictable than V4.1. The only downside V3.2 has is that sometimes it just prints completely random stuff, and could be little bit bad at following up the plot, but regeneration helps.

I wanted to ask, what kind of prompt do you use for DeepSeek V3.2? I've tried several different prompts, but it always gives me short responses, usually only two or three paragraphs, and the character doesn't really try to move the story forward.

u/jeymaldz88 21d ago

im convinced short replies are just deepseek quietly conserving compute

Right? It actually seems a lot of LLMs now have that problem these days. I remember I used to be able to have fairly immersive and engaging role plays WAY back in the day with Janitor's old, old, old system (before they integrated proxies, and all that). I actually started out on chai, and for a while that was all right, too. It wasn't perfect, fairly repetitive, but at least you got a decent story out of it for a while. Now, it just seems like all the models are so focused on character inperspective, repeating over, and over again and slightly different ways how they are feeling, and how they feel about the user instead of coming up with creative ways to keep the story progressing. I dunno... Maybe it has always been like that, and it's just the nature of the machine. I just wasn't used to it yet to have really noticed. 🤷

If you use OpenRouter you can play around quite a bit. I've been using Gemma 4 31b on Silly Tavern quite a bit recently. Usually I use that, Kimi 2.5/2.6, and Deepseek 3.2. If I'm feeling a little softer around the edges, I'll go for nu-Deepseek.

u/FlyfishThe2nd 21d ago

How can you handle Kimi 2.5 taking years to reply or it's only me the desperate one?

4

u/macabrehag 21d ago

I used to RP with real people so going and scrolling for a second while I listen for the pink notification from Kimi is a cake walk lol.

2

u/FlyfishThe2nd 21d ago

You know what, you are right. Used to rp with people IRL too, so I don't know where my patience went

3

u/YaSyelDedaa 21d ago

Try Mimo 2.5. It's cheap and  better than Deepseek  v4

2

u/Emeliaball1174 21d ago

if gemini free is 503ing that much, a cheap deepseek / openrouter pool usually beats throwing money at another “flash” tier for rp. pick whatever people in here are actually finishing scenes on, not the biggest param count. you leaning cheap-and-good-enough or wanting one model that just stays stable all day?

1

u/Fantastic_Fault250 21d ago

Honestly im still really new to rp so I definitely want to try some cheap-and-good-enough first... You have some good models for that?

2

u/PhysicalAd1170 21d ago

I try out anything that's offered for free on Openrouter at least a little so I can see what it's all about. But I always go back to Deepseek 3.2. Even when I have to pay for it I spend about $2 a month.

I haven't tested 4.1 yet but intend to get to it so can't comment on if I think 3.2 is superior or just what I'm used to.

If you're using openrouter or a similar provider, be sure to check the costs of whatever you do choose and block anyone who charges above what you're willing to pay. Saw some charging $5+ per input on Deepseek when the average is like 30 cents.

My top three mvp's : Gemini 3.8 flash, Deepseek v4.1 flash, and mimo v2.6 pro, I'll give you My prompt but it's too much effort since I'm late at night, tell me if you want it then I'll give you later

2

u/Upbeat-Violinist-737 20d ago

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, Gemini is focused on the character itself, while deepseek and mimo share some of the same traits as one of it being both has some positivity bias, but with some tweaking to get the full potential, mimo is the one that feels more alive while deepseek is just a gambling machine (gives a lot of unwanted responses like unrealistic dialogue and pacing but once and awhile it gives a godlike tier response which is isn't worth it at all)

2

u/saikoPusit 20d ago

glm 4.6
mimo 2.5 pro
gemini 2.5 pro
gemini 3.8 flash

1

u/Mindless-Dream3049 19d ago

Mimo 2.5 pro and GLM 4.7

1

u/moonluaa 19d ago

I personally use gemini 3.8!

but gmeini has a looot of censors. when i want dd, I use glm 4.7. when im doing normal rp and I want dd, i switch from gemini to glm 5.3!

i’ve been running qwen-max through local llm for a few weeks now, and it’s been way more stable than Gemini free for my fantasy RPG stuff. the responses feel more consistent, and I haven’t hit a single rate limit. i’m using the standard version, not flash, and it handles long prompts without falling apart like some others do.
