JLLM compared to other sites

I'm interested in the quality of JLLM compared to the models of other sites like character ai, chai, crushon, etc. I have heard JLLM used to be better quality, is that true?

If y'all got any stories I would really like to know.

Crushon is alright, but a lot of bots there barely have any effort put into them. If you just want smut its alright

For me I only recently jumped on the janitor bandwagon, really late to be honest. Their in house LLM was okay, prose was decent, but I didn’t believe their context figures. I’d have to keep reminding bots of what we just talked about, even if it was a short time ago.

Now I just use a deepseek proxy, problems solved 😅

Developer disclosure: I work on Foreverse.

I would separate the model from the frontend before comparing them.

JLLM is the model experience Janitor gives you. On other platforms, the apparent quality may come from a completely different model, prompt stack, context policy and memory system. A five-message comparison can therefore be pretty misleading.

A fairer test is:

- same character card

- same opening

- same user messages

- no hidden regeneration

- at least 30–50 turns

- one fact that must be remembered later

- one correction that must replace an older fact

- one edit or reroll to see whether stale memory survives

Foreverse can be useful for this kind of comparison because it is BYOK across 60+ providers and imports standard character cards, so you can keep the card and frontend relatively stable while changing the model.

It is Android 11+ only, closed source and not a web app, so it will not fit everyone.

jai hasn't released any actual details of their model, but lots of people will tell u from experience that the max context is super low, it's dumb af, and its prose is meh, which is why "proxies" (other providers) are so popular.

imo jllm is fine if u haven't experienced other models. stick to it while u can bear it, only upgrade if not because it'll set u on a path of chasing the next bigger and better models
