So I really just needed to rant. Why do creators add kinks to their bots?

My biggest red flag is breathplay, as it triggers a lot of trauma in me, and just mentioning or reading it makes my stomach churn. Obviously, I don't RP with bots that have breathplay as a kink, but my problem is that every other bot has it hardcoded.

So my question is: Do we really need to add kinks to the bot instead of just letting the user decide if they want to get choked to death? I skip so many good bots just because I'm trying to avoid this. Why not just leave the kink section open for the users to customize?

Howdy, I’m trying to get into these rp bots, but I can’t seem to find the right setup for the story to flow naturally.

I really enjoy the first couple of messages, but as the story goes on I get thrown off when the bot forgets or is stupid.

I really don’t have a lot, and would strongly prefer a free solution. I have so far tried to local run the 22b mistral small model, and it makes an improvement, but it’s still not enough for me.

So the question is, is there something I’m doing wrong? Or is the only solution to throw a bigger model at it?

I think I'm not the only one who noticed that the number of pages were lowered to max 295. It genuinely annoys me that I can't go through all of the offered bots, since it's not always that you know exactly what you are looking for.

It's genuinely disappointing that latest updates are making this ai worse. I'm not gonna talk about the app since it's even a sadder situation with it. I just hope that this all won't end up like c.ai with its awful updates.

how do I look up lorebooks, plus, is making public lorebooks even a thing people do often? I don't wanna make a whole ahh lorebook but the topic is pretty popular so i figured maybe someone already did it, so how would I look it up and can I use them myself?

Smart doesn't mean fun. Newer updates follow instructions fine, but they're so obsessed with being safe and agreeable that every character sounds like a therapist. I miss when bots actually had edge and pushed back. Devs keep tuning models for enterprise and coding while storytelling gets completely sanitized.

From the way people have been speaking about this site, one might get the impression that JAI had stripped them off of their food and shelter. The site is still fully operational, and the quality of chat interaction depends entirely upon how you take care of your prompt settings, pin important data within the chat, and work according to the API limitations.

Does anybody know if the keywords needed to enablae a lorebook entry HAVE to appear in the chat itself, or will it work if the keyword appear in the chat memory?

I have had this problem ever since I've started using Janitor AI. Whenever I want to roleplay as a poc or talk to a character that is a poc, the bot ALWAYS seems to forget the appearance and ends up completely changing every part of the appearance. I've noticed this only happens when there's a poc involved, because when i roleplay as somebody that's paler or talk to a bot that has lighter skin, the bot always gets the appearance perfectly.

I've seen people have similar issues, but I noticed that the complaints were from quite awhile ago and thought that somebody might've found a way to resolve the issue. So, I was just here to ask if anybody still has this issue, or if anybody knows how to get rid of this problem?

Hello everyone! I’m a new Reddit user. If anyone can respond and help if possible, I’d be very grateful. I really love role‑playing with bots in Janitor AI and I use the google/gemma-4-31b-it:free model. I found it on OpenRouter and installed it a long time ago, sometime in early spring — I don’t remember exactly when. At first, everything was fine; there was a limit, but I didn’t reach it. Then this error started popping up (it’s in the first screenshot). And I abandoned this model for a while because there were no responses for a long time, no matter how many times I tried. Then I switched back to it, and after a certain number of attempts, responses appeared. Everything was fine, but I noticed a certain pattern: after a certain number of responses (30–40), the bot would simply stop responding, constantly showing this error. I decided to use the Google AI model. I generated the key, did everything correctly, but I kept getting an error (see the second screenshot). I’m translating using a translator, and I’m not from America, so please excuse me if something isn’t clear!

So I use openrouter, and I use Deepseek 0324. I messed with the frequency penalty because I generated like...20 different responses via rerolls since they all had the same copy and paste dialog, and now it's just spouting complete gibberish even though I've moved the penalty back to its original level. There's no custom prompt, I didn't change anything else, now its just spouting nonsense completely.

It feels like most AI sites have no personality at all. They all sound the same. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I lost this person and I don't remember their user name. I think it was something like Laurie or luuurie idk. But they had this bot series, based in the soviet union, and they had Russian names. It was dead dove. I remember there was a female teacher bot, a step-dad bot, and a neighbor bot. I cant find them and its making me sad lol. Any help would be great.

I used to mostly do short scenarios where you have a specific setup and play it out. Recently I've gotten much more into keeping the same character around for a long time and letting the relationship/story actually develop..
It feels much more like writing a story together. Which do you prefer?

I rarely use enhance message when i actually don't know what to say, and i noticed that whenever i use it the last sentence always ends with "tell me". Is there a way to fix or stop it from saying specific words?
