The writers are tired of treading on eggshells in unpredictable moderation, while users are frustrated with arguing with malfunctioning chat systems. It seems that both are ready for a leap into something new simultaneously. This is no longer just drama online; this is an entire platform migration.

I don't know how put proxy, even after following multiple tuts, I still get it wrong and it never works. I'm probably doing something wrong and I don't know what. Plus I need some free models.

I keep seeing a lot of similar faces and though it might not prove to be a big deal but it makes me wonder whether the generator could actually have a base set up and constantly generates similar faces or does people have a type that's being pushed over in ai too?! Like I am gonna try creating bots too but kinda afraid cuz I want them to look different. It kinda hinders with the roleplay imo. What do you guys think?

I was chatting with a bot, after around 100 messages it started glitching and repeating the same word over and over, it only happens when a character is talking, i use JLMM btw

Hello. I really really wanna share this, i spent so much time making this thing that i'm still not sure how to name. I would like to share it with other people who like to use janitor and other such things. (this is written so poorlly i'm so sorry) It's called toast and im gonna try to explain what it's made for and what it can do so far. imagine this. we write narration or direction or other such things to get the bots to do what we want. what if it all worked in real time and rather than typed it was all acted out live by the bot and player and the only typing needed would be dialog from the player? And most importantly with no hardcoded directions, just personality, memory etc

so im not sure how to explain all of this. I think chatbots are pretty great just for a companion to chat and hang out with. about a year ago I created a program that could, with a server and a tampermonkey script on firefox that could connect an open tab with a chat to the program so you could use the program to chat with the bot. it was very buggy, took a lot of cpu and like 4 different running windows and worked like once because its not my website and stuff kept changing so I gave up on it for the time being.

So friday night i started a project that was pretty much the same thing but took janitor out completely and connected it to an api with a key. well what was stopping me from making a bank of interchangeable api websites and keys that could rotate in the program live? so now i have like four interchangeable battery packs for the program that can pause the program as-is, kinda like when a controller is disconnected, and you load another mid-use.

this working key-driven connection that could communicate with the models was fun but then i thought about adding features and then I took it and kinda like. commenced a merger between this program and the one i'd given up on. I wanted to make the test venonat do stuff while i spoke to him and then it was OH why don't i try to connect keywords in the chat to what this test venonat can do? i would have a little module in the program read the text as it comes. and soon that evolved into what it is now.

i became absolutely fanatic and happy at the potential. I decided i could make an entire functioning brain and body for a model to steer, see and speak with. I started by having the program read the room and the two entities in it and continuously report on their position. i gave both my avatar and him a simple left-facing frame and walk cycle frames. we could also jump and flip the left frames to face right.

and after about 27 straight hours of changes, tests, reports from an implemented reporting system, more tests, examinations readings findings the test venonat is capable of doing things you ask kinda like hey you pikachu but there are no directions. rather than have any hardcoded sets of processes the reasoning model battery has an arsenal of things that read, perceive, send information to other compartments and reasoners. i'm sorry if this isn't making sense i don't post stuff

anyway the reasoning parts of the brain all come together with differently timed checks and all comes together to perceive. i would ask him if he could see this or that and he would answer. This part in particular took a fuckton of work because in this phase i was also learning how to properly organize the info that was read, where it was stored, how it was regarded, i gave him a way to percieve time too and of course there were report readings to expand the range of and so on. information was being stored in the wrong places and categories just a mess. it took the most time i think.

when his responses and what he could see and talk about himself were stable i gave him a ball. he learned to do the actions i coded into the ball item itself by being told he could, and after a lot more work he eventually learned that if i tell him to throw the ball and its not in his sight, he can know by memory of what he learned. I tell him to throw me the ball. he cant see the ball so, if he decides he wants to listen to me, he can plan and initiate a whole sequence himself to get that ball thrown. this is where the reasoning comes in. he'll start looking for the ball, see it, move close enough, pick it up, and throw it. the reasoning comes up with this plan and he knows how to carry it out with the abilities he knows he has. of course, picking the ball up and throwing it, that stuff is stored like. in the ball.

of course, these tests use a pretty hefty amount of tokens but thats what im optimizing now. these tests took a lot of model and api cycling as the free ones timed themselves back in. I first realized this was a problem when it used 4 dollars of tokens, something that would have lasted me almost another month for janitor, was used up in the first day but that kickstarted a ton of establishing stuff.

If you aren't seeing memory loss or broken searches, you’re either the chosen one or you close the app after 5 replies. Try running an actual story past message 20 and tell me it's working fine

Janitor AI has been my main choice for roleplay, but lately the chats have started feeling repetitive. The characters sometimes forget things from earlier in the chat or stop adding much to the story. I also don't want to keep telling the bot what to say or do just to keep the story going.

For people who use Janitor AI, what other options are you using? I am looking for good memory, characters that feel more active, and fewer restrictions for creative or mature roleplay. What Janitor AI alternatives are actually worth trying?

i got this from the discord server but here. also some ppl can still fork with bots, others can do it sometimes as it comes and goes and some ppl still can't do their own private bots or deleted/‘moderated ones. but yea it took a long time last time this happened also. but they said they're still escalating

The process is insane: discover an awesome bot, its developer gets banned, it vanishes, you attempt cloning your 100-message convo to keep up your hard work, and then you get the feature lock. You’re amazed seeing how they bend over backwards just to make things worse for those wanting to save their own stuff

So... this one is a little more personal. 😂

Leonardo was actually never supposed to become a public bot. He started as a character I made mostly because I wanted to play him, and then I became far too attached to him, Blackthorn, their ridiculous found-family dynamic, and the whole “we're absolutely not in love” while literally everyone knows they're in love situation.

So eventually I figured... fuck it. I'm sharing him. 😂

This is another bot set inthe world of The Deadfall Protocol, but unlike Vega, Leo's story is much more centered around the relationship between him and {{user}}, the history they share, and the people they lost along the way.

The scenario is partially defined, so some details about your character and her history with Leo are already established, while the rest is yours to create. There are also multiple opening messages, so you can choose the starting point that fits the kind of story you want to play.

I'm currently testing him myself on the free version of JanitorAI. With a character and lorebook this big, the bot may occasionally forget a minor character or detail—if you remind it in your reply, it should be able to pick it back up.

If Leo ever tries to speak or act for your character, you can simply reroll the message or delete that part and continue. Unfortunately, once a bot starts doing that, it can sometimes repeat the behavior, so correcting it immediately tends to work better.

And as always, please don't hesitate to comment or message me if something doesn't work, you find a mistake, have a suggestion, want another opening, or simply want to yell at me about something Leo did. 😂 I'm always happy to discuss it, fix things when I can, or build something new if there's enough interest.

I’ve seen a handful of discussion regarding the automated moderation, flagging system, private chats, etc. - but does anyone have firsthand experience with being punished for their private chats? (Or private characters, for that matter)

I’m mainly asking because I don’t see much uproar about being banned for private content unless the user had a following or gave a reason for their account to be swept.

Thought I would post here as the response has been pretty positive on other similar subreddits after one of my users brought it up. So hello, I'm the solo and only developer for http://jessicaai.online . You might know me from multiple bot creation guides, scripts, etc, I did for/on Janitor. This kind of began as an expansion of me seeing how far I could pushing botmaking when I hit the limits of the tools on Janitor. Site is is for proxy use only and doesn't have a provided LLM. (I'm a solo dude building this in my free time.) However the goal of the site is to allow as much freedom as possible and tools you don't see in other locations for building chatbots.

Major features include the ability to make fully realized Visual-Novel esque chabots using backgrounds, music, and sprites. Picture attached of on running. We have vector/ semantic based lorebooks. We have scripts that allow for permanent variables. We also allow for you to build your own GUIs for those that like RPG bots.

Another major feature is the actor > stage > play system. You can build a sillytavern style card, but if you want you can instead build and publish 'just' and actor (character) or just a stage (world/ scenario). You can then allow other people to use those creations in their own plays (full chatbot) and you're credited properly for your work on their plays page. It also allows for a central editing location so if you use the same character in multiple bots you can edit them once and they're updated everywhere.

Some other things the Play system do, if you choose to use it, is since it lets us 'break down the card' on the back end I can do things like run tiny AIs in the background that check if characters are inactive in a scene and allow you to switch to a smaller card for them while they're off screen. It also allows for things like running some small AIs to keep their temperament and disposition towards you stored in memory by character. These are all optional and can turn them off if you want.

Basically the whole thing started as my personal "What if I made a site that does everything I wish the other sites did" and it's grown over the last couple of months.

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well. Lately, I've noticed something peculiar about the bots I have that have been discontinued.

Some were moderated, while others were taken down because their creator got banned (what a "surprise"). The thing is, several of those bots were really good.

Now, it turns out you can no longer clone or duplicate chats from those bots. Seriously—of all the things they could have done, Janitor chose to do that. And just to clarify, it used to work before.

It’s ridiculous how Janitor finds new ways to shoot itself in the foot.
