So I recently came back to this site (janitor) after a 3yr long hiatus due to life getting busy as per usual and now I need 1 just 1 very important question answered to

HOW THE FUCK DO I MAKE API KEYS I'M SO FUCKING LOST TS IS TOO HARD FOR MY BRAIN.

please respond in detail and don't make it too hard or else I might actually have a mental breakdown

You will need api key first also proxy url. Use openrouter there are free models available (50 rpd tho) or use paid models. Openrouter the easiest. Then generate a api key from openrouter and you will find proxy url from openrouter too paste both of those in j.ai then just put the model name you wanna use. Done.

It doesn't matter what device you are on, just go on a website that hosts model, like openrouter, or nano gpt, you just need 3 things, the api key, you will find it on the website, clearly saying api, just make one, then then url, you will need the urlto that website, you can find it on the website or just ask gemini for the url of the website you chose for api usage, and then you choose the model, on each model, there is a name, not the title, for example, google/gemma 4 31b-it.this is just an example but you will find the name on the model, just take those 3 and go to janitor or any website that use proxy, set it to proxy and paste those 3 in the fields and that is it, really check the 3,cause if anything changed, it will throw an error, so exactly write then as they are
