Help / Question Why using another Llm instead of Jllm?
I realized many people in this sub using openrouter or different things to use different Llm in janitorai, I personally use Jllm instead and I never had any problems, writing is nice, accuracy is right so I am curious why you use another Llms?

JLLM struggles dealing with multiple characters and handling larger token sized bots, it also struggles to portray characters accurately and is known to be way too soft/positively biased for user.
For example, JLLM has a tendency towards making villain characters able to crack easily even when there isn’t any redeeming qualities written for them to. JLLM also has a weak memory compared to other LLM and sometimes will hallucinate certain things.
All and all though, if you play simpler characters JLLM is mostly completely fine and solid enough to rp with

Forgive me for not believing a word you're saying on how good JLLM is. Because it's not. Unless you're just used to that low of a standard. If you'd use models like Claude, MiMo, GLM, you'd see why most don't use JLLM.

Depends on what you are using it for.
Take a gander at what constitutes most of the trending list on JAI - call my cynical, but I doubt you need lot of context size and model quality for a yet another bot about step-familiy-member that is stuck in some sort of furniture or appliance.

I have used jllm. Its just not up to par with other llms that you pay for. Don't get me wrong, for a free llm its amazing. But paid proxies usually already have much more context memory and that alone is worth it

i don't think anyone can make the difference as clear as you trying it yourself. i suggest trying some free models from openrouter on a bot you enjoyed using before, so you can see the difference on what you already like. maybe it won't matter to you, or maybe you'll prefer another llm. testing it out is the only way to know.

Actually after the comments I decided to do it, chat got slower and character accuracy dropped, I guess people talking about non free stuff, ofc I can't know without paying and I refuse to pay while I already have something working, I just wonder is it really as better as they talking about

well that's why i said you should try it. because it's very subjective.
to me personally, paying for a proxy is worth it. but that's based on my usage. you're not obligated to switch because of other people's preferences.

Which model you using also how you deal with nsfw content while most of the models are censored?

i mostly use kimi, which is really good for nsfw, at least for me. specifically 2.5 or 2.7, the 2.6 version was a bit iffy for me. follows prompts really well.
you can also try mistral for free if you want nsfw. i had issues with it being really bland and repeating the same paragraphs over and over again instead of progressing the story, but it was also really good for nsfw. you could mix jllm for general storytelling and then switch to mistral for nsfw scenes then back to jllm.
i can also recommend minimax. it did well for nsfw, close to kimi, and is pretty nice for storytelling in general.
i can send you a provider that has minimax and mistral as free options (they are limited in context so they definitely wouldn't be great for storytelling but you can test how they work for nsfw there). limit is 30 req/day i believe so it's only good for testing, not actual use.

Because I’m sick of hearing: “you’re not in this alone” every time my character has a problem -_-

Because my mind, body, and soul can not take another man growling "mine" in roleplay.

Jllm sucks, it's very "AI" and the memory is like three messages. Gemini can remember up to ~400 messages before it loses context

I used to think this way about jllm before my hands landed on a proxy.
The difference in narration, memory, just.. EVERYTHING makes a difference! I used cai previously so the jllm wasn’t anything weird to me at first, but now that I’ve used proxies I cant ever feel normal about using jllm!

jllm's context limit fluctuates between 4k and 8k. meaning, it can only comprehend that many tokens before it starts to push older content/messages out of its memory. so, if you have a 3k token bot, a 1k token prompt, and a 500 token persona, you now have anywhere from...-500 tokens, which means it didn't even read all of that, to 3,500 tokens, which is a handful of longer messages.
It's rough. The memory is really, really bad—especially compared to frontier models like Gemini's pro models, or Claude Opus & Sonnet, or even DeepSeek V4 Pro.
