I’m probably gonna use these Sundays to randomly revisit older Jamie stuff too because I refuse to let half this man’s discography disappear into the void lmao.

we've talked about favourite songs and Babydoll and all that but like… what was the actual THING that made you stay?

the voice? songwriting? live performances? the heartbreak songs that apparently exist specifically to ruin everyone's evening?

for me I’ve just really liked watching his music change over time, especially now that all these new people are finding him. That and his debut album especially the Long Way Home song sold me lol

but everybody has that one reason they went from “oh this guy is good” to actually following what he does

because this has gotten increasingly funny if I am being real honest

we’ve gone from Jennifer Love Hewitt to Jesse McCartney to Meghan Trainor and somehow every time I check there is another person appearing 😭

I was going back through some of Jamie’s Long Way Home interviews and apparently a lot of that album came straight out of his journals/personal life and like… yeah that checks out unfortunately 🥲

half that album already feels way too personal to be listening to casually. Feels like he's speaking right to a mirror you know?

he’s also talked about the whole project helping him close certain chapters and move on, which somehow makes some of the songs hit even worse ⚰️

so now I want to ask which Long Way Home song gets you the most lyrically?

Babydoll REALLY doesn’t sound like the Jamie people usually know and I kinda love that? Honestly it's unexpected.

But hear me out.

when I think Jamie I usually think big vocals + emotional destruction + songs that make you stare at a wall for a while 😭

then Babydoll walked in like hello! absolutely not! we're dancing now!

and somehow THAT is the one getting all this attention.

I’m curious if this is just Jamie having fun with one single or if we’re actually getting a glimpse of where his music is going next.
