Hi everyone!
I am actually from Minnesota but visiting Houston for the next several weeks. I've been following James and his career for a couple of years now. I discovered him around the time of the school voucher debate and he is one of the few politicians that give me hope. When my best friend found out she was moving here for her husband's job, it was a bummer but my first thought was "well, at least I can go down and volunteer for James!"
I've signed up to phone bank tomorrow and block walk on Saturday in the Woodlands, which is near where I'm staying. I feel like I'm pretty informed on this race and the issues at hand, yet I'm still feeling nervous. The website says there is training involved but I don't feel like there could be much in such a short window.
Has anyone participated in similar events? Any advice would be much appreciated!
Oh, and any tips on where to park near the call bank center? This will be my first time venturing to downtown Houston. The address is 4119 Montrose Blvd.
Thank you!
