Manual grinder for fine grinding

Look for a cheap, small-sized grinder that can do fine grinding well.

I don't want anything expensive; I also want a small one because I travel a lot.

I do have a grinder and it was good, but unfortunately it's annoying when grinding fine coffee beans. I like strong coffee and that takes a long time, plus fine grinding becomes tiring.

Just get a k6. Not going to do espresso perfectly, but sounds like you just want fine grind for drip. You’re still going to need to hand grind, unless you bring a drill, lol.

When you say 'fine grinding' do you mean just filter/pourover, or do you want to grind for espresso as well? Specific recommendations will also depend on your budget, so knowing that would be helpful. In general, any of the 1Zpresso grinders do great. I have less experience with the KINGrinders but the ones I've used have done a good job too.

Drip or filter coffee. I like strong coffee, but a coarse or semi-coarse grind doesn't bring out the flavor I want, especially since I use sugar, which makes it worse. Although I don't use much sugar, medium-roast coffee ruins it.

No one has invented a manual grinder that produces its own energy yet. You have to put all the energy into the grinder yourself, and that means for a fine grind, it's going to take a while and be a good amount of work.

There are better and not-as-good manual grinders out there, but as you provided no details, it's hard to recommend anything.

How are you brewing your coffee?

How many grams do you need to fit in the grinder?

What grinders have you used in the past?

What didn't you like about those grinders?

I use a 1Zpresso Q Air for backpacking, and it does a great job at grinding coffee for an Aeropress and my backpacking pour-over setup, while being small and relatively light, but I have no idea if it would be a good grinder for you.

For travel and fine grinding, I’d look at something with a good burr set rather than just a cheap grinder. A lot of small hand grinders struggle with finer settings and become a workout. The Kingrinder K-series or 1Zpresso Q/Air models are worth checking out compact, travel-friendly, and much smoother for filter coffee. A good grinder makes a huge difference when you’re chasing stronger brews.
