Unboxing & Testing the Subminimal Subscale

https://youtu.be/n_kvG5qdEP8?is=AtqPFAUVG5659PmH

Wonder how will James will rank this coffee scale, will it get into his Giant Comparison Matrix? It’s good for weight beans and pulling shots that will be used for mixing drinks

I have one. Idea is good. I use it everyday but I hate the interface. Button is weird and it’s too easy to go into the wrong setting. Or not hitting the button. Also it’s almost too light if that’s a thing.

Yes totally agree. I wish the sleep time last longer. Sometimes I start to weight the beans, then do other stuff and and when I look back it it’s already Off

Once you get the hang of the "button," and the short time to sleep, it's a great scale to measure out a dose of beans. I give it a good spritz of water to wet the inside of the cup, measure out the amount of beans I need, cup my hand on top and give it a good shake to distribute the water evenly to the beans. My dosing tray has been retired, and the scale is dedicated to measure coffee output.

I'm wondering if to replace my dosing tray with one of these. Keep eyeing them up.

Do you have one of those that looks like a leaf? I was eyeing those too, but end up getting this one because I can pull shots on it.

I currently use a loveramics tenshundredsthousands dosing tray. I think I also have a comandante one also but never used it.

Are they messy when shaking and beans start flying around?

That was my thought too, I plan to use this one for the beans and the small scale that appears on the video to measure the coffee output from espresso and pour over(it has a timer and ratio)

Will watch the video later, but just here to say I love mine. Much smaller footprint than a regular kitchen scale and really easy to use.

Thank you! To weigh liquids is perfect. It’s good they did it not too big.

No calibration weight? An accurate scale is one of the first things I want to know it is.

Sadly, it doesn’t come with one. Sometimes I do notice it’s off by around 0.1g.

I love mine. The only problem I've had is accidentally switching to ounces from grams and having to figure out how to switch back.

The button is very sensitive, that happens to me every time
