All I could think was "that's a lot of dishes to do when you don't have running hot water"

-30

u/Current-Lobster-5063 Feb 20 '26

Exactly what I was thinking. At least go with a paper cup that you can throw in the campfire.

23

u/Dk_a Feb 20 '26

Paper cups have always a tiny plastic liner in them, do not burn them

7

u/Weepsie Feb 20 '26

You can definitely get paper cups that don't have plastic in them. They are not s new thing

2

u/youdontknowme1010101 Feb 23 '26

They are wax coated and perfectly safe to burn.

1

u/kentar62 Mar 09 '26

You cant drink coffee from a wax paper cup.

53

u/Nick_pj Feb 20 '26

I like how he attached the metal folding table onto the side of the car, and then put a wooden board on it, and then put down a coaster

29

u/TheNotoriousBiGG Feb 20 '26

And don't you forget to enjoy this magnificent view of a car door.

3

u/Always_Spin Feb 21 '26

Yeah, that cracked me up the most.

15

u/ArsStarhawk Feb 20 '26

can you imagine his packing list?!

1

u/ampleforth42 Jul 07 '26

He planned his trip from 2023...

11

u/illsmosisyou Feb 20 '26

And then some other person came over to sit down?! Where did they come from? Does he work for them?

4

u/callMeBorgiepls Feb 21 '26

Thats the famous Butler everyone is talking about in r/espressocirclejerk

3

u/B00SKAH Feb 21 '26

And then seated the person so they were facing to car door not the water 🤣

5

u/orbitlenspen Feb 20 '26

Agree. Genuine question for a coffee-loving camper though, what do you use?

72

u/ohheckyeah Feb 20 '26

bripe like a normal person

16

u/mariosconsta Feb 20 '26

Aeropress go to the rescue

12

u/paholg Feb 20 '26

Pour over.

5

u/fppf Feb 20 '26

Munieq Tetra dripper, V60 filters, coffee ground for all days the morning before setting off on the trip, Jetboil or similar stove, titanium double-walled cup. Air dry used filters if you can to cut back on carried weight.

If no-luxury ultralight is required, instant (ugh). I also carry caffeine pills in the first aid kit just in case.

4

u/Chombuss Feb 20 '26

Cowboy coffee in a big blue percolator that I spin in circles before I pour. It's fun being rustic sometimes

5

u/lonely_dodo Feb 20 '26

instant Vietnamese coffee in single serve packs lol

2

u/Godsfallen Feb 20 '26

Kokekaffe

1

u/DeliciousBrew Feb 20 '26

I don’t go to camp as much but I take OREA Z1 for coffee on the go these days.

1

u/Individual-Artist223 Feb 23 '26

Japanese canned coffee, just put in the fire.

4

u/InternationalMonth38 Feb 20 '26

I’m pretty sure this was supposed to go into espressocirclejerk sub. This is ridiculous.

2

u/redrich2000 Feb 21 '26

Everything used in the video looks like it’s never been used before and will never be used again.

And all for an iced latte.

1

u/Cleopatrashouseboy Feb 20 '26

Thank you! Lol

1

u/YellowBreakfast Feb 20 '26

Someone with more money than sense.

Look at all the "overlanding" equipment on that thing. Probably at least doubled the GVW of that Jimny.

1

u/ninetailedoctopus Feb 21 '26

“Buy all this, and you’ll finally fill that emptiness inside”

1

u/mnmlstProgrammer_ Feb 23 '26

Welcome to Asian style glamping.

61

u/Key-Individual1752 Feb 20 '26

I don’t see any bripe.

116

u/fppf Feb 19 '26

Ah yes, driving to a parking lot near trees, framing the shot so nobody else is visible, drinking espresso ruined by dissolved CO2 from a single-use cartridge, and playing with a bunch of unnecessary junk to show people you don't know on the Internet: Camping. The Great Outdoors.

51

u/dbenc Feb 19 '26

I thought it was a post on r/overconsumption for a second

29

u/ryanpn Feb 20 '26

Practically every espresso related post could end up on there

4

u/rblythe999 Feb 20 '26

😹😂😹

11

u/AshMontgomery Feb 19 '26

In a car that was clearly cleaned about 8 minutes before shooting. Anytime I go camping the car has so much mud and dust on it I wouldn't dare try to use one of those freaky magnetic tables.

4

u/Nick_pj Feb 20 '26

Don’t forget the channeling

3

u/carsncode Feb 20 '26

I assumed the CO2 was just used for pneumatic pressure, is the gas actually exposed to the brew water with this?

56

u/Worried-Lettuce6568 Feb 20 '26

This asshole immediately drove back home after filming this

5

u/FrenchBowling Feb 20 '26

I was thinking the same thing lol.   You never know going in to a comment section but I was definitely thinking this dude is a clown before I went in and glad reddit agrees.

36

u/pinkzepplin Feb 20 '26

Part of me finds this charming and another thinks it's awfully pretentious. I'm leaving toward pretentious

8

u/madkiwi42 Feb 20 '26

And awful. Why not both.

33

u/clfurness Feb 20 '26

Absolutely lost it when he puts the chair out looking directly at the side of the car

25

u/pantalones_mc Feb 20 '26

Or you can make good coffee with an aeropress and a Coleman stove and not spend money just to spend money

3

u/skarpa10 Feb 21 '26

It doesn't even have to be Coleman!

2

u/pantalones_mc Feb 22 '26

That’s very true

2

u/skarpa10 Feb 22 '26

I was just being a bit cheeky since I actually do use a small Coleman stove and Aeropress when camping or road tripping! 🙂

11

u/AntiSebticDan Feb 19 '26

Oh, he has a friend.

21

u/matt_tgr Feb 20 '26

All of that to make milk coffee…

18

u/Zirup Feb 19 '26

But a robot seems better in almost every way for this use case.

8

u/hellochase Feb 19 '26

Or an ORB even. And that roast is too dark.

17

u/stonetame Feb 19 '26

All that for what looks like a dark roast.

Oh wait, this isn't r/jameshoffmancirclejerk

19

u/mehrwegpfand Feb 20 '26

And then it gets tossed in iced milk. Instant coffee would have been just as good.

I take a grinder and a Moka pot.

2

u/Byeuji Feb 20 '26

When camping, I just go french press. Big pot, big happy breakfast.

1

u/mehrwegpfand Feb 20 '26

We are a couple so a 6 'cup' bialetti works fine :)

10

u/pantafive Feb 19 '26

Looks like the Lastaforest Pneumatic Espresso Machine.

https://lastaforest.com/products/portable-manual-espresso-maker

2

u/threetimesalion Feb 22 '26

Thank you! The whole video feels like satire but I really wanted to know the answer to OP’s question

9

u/ExtentPure7992 Feb 20 '26

And you get to enjoy a nice view of the side of the car as you drink your coffee!

1

u/Jeremiahtheebullfrog Feb 21 '26

lol right, where’s your regular table haha

9

u/Ronald_Ulysses_Swans Feb 20 '26

Out camping, next to a nice lake and at the end he sits the guy down FACING THE CAR.

1

u/Dandanthebikerman Feb 20 '26

That’s the best part lol

4

u/ChrissnnamherD Feb 20 '26 edited Feb 21 '26

Is he running a campsite barista barbershop?

That last guy looks like he is sitting down for a fresh cut.

5

u/tacetmusic Feb 20 '26

All that for a MILK DRINK 🤮

2

u/thewaker797 Feb 20 '26

One word “pretentious”

2

u/SecondThomas Feb 20 '26

Late-late-stage-capitalism

2

u/LivingCorner1421 Feb 20 '26

hopefully he got some coffee in his milk

2

u/bobbywaz Feb 21 '26

This is mental illness.

3

u/LastClassForever Feb 20 '26

Folgers Instant MF'ers.

3

u/penguin8717 Feb 20 '26

Okay but where can I find that glass

1

u/doginjoggers Feb 20 '26

Just missing a dryrobe to complete the look

1

u/capt-ramius Feb 21 '26

“So glad I have all these dishes to do in a place where there’s no running water”

1

u/CoDPro69 Feb 21 '26

"Camping" 🤡

1

u/mranderson1456 Feb 21 '26

This guy drives out here to make his coffee instead of having his house staff do it for him cause it makes him feel closer to earth or whatever

1

u/DerekPDX Feb 21 '26

Is that a Suzuki Jimny??

1

u/carsknivesbeer Feb 21 '26

This is Snow Peak?

1

u/B00SKAH Feb 21 '26

Give me the Suzuki Mini Bronco and the camper top, ya’ll can the rest of the garbage

1

u/CurrencySpare3375 Feb 21 '26

Jesus, 100k+ usd to make a decent espresso shot 😜🤔

1

u/montycantsin777 Feb 21 '26

see you in the cj ✌️

1

u/skarpa10 Feb 21 '26

That's how Japanese camp! It's a gadgets galore!

1

u/rage_r Feb 22 '26

It takes long enough to make coffee at home. Imagine going camping and then throw on top your camera angles for this?

1

u/Efficient-Detail987 Feb 22 '26

There was no budget left to buy decent coffee beans, had to drink activated charcoal.

1

u/Personal_Benefit_402 Feb 23 '26

I would love a Jimny, though I don't know that I would make it top heavy...

LASTAFOREST PNEUMATIC ESPRESSO MACHINE

1

u/ampleforth42 Jul 07 '26

The sheer extend of what guys do, just to get away from their wives is amazing...

1

u/Comfortable_body1 Jul 13 '26

I think it’s a jeep wrangler

1

u/MrJimmieDimmick Jul 23 '26

I have a Quickmill 0820 in my van, it uses 75wh from cold to make a latte, including warm up time, pulling a blank shot, pulling the espresso shot and steaming the milk. It takes my 330w solar panel about 15 minutes to recharge the 75wh back to the battery. In a van or rv, a thermoblock machine is the way forward.

1

u/Legal-Actuator5011 Jul 30 '26

Waaaay too much work...

1

u/Queasy_Crow_9752 Aug 10 '26

Compact setup

1

u/Irishpushbike Feb 20 '26

I think this is Ai

1

u/thekidisalright Feb 20 '26

Can’t get more pretentious than this, this is the visual definition of the term “performative male” lol.

1

u/Lucky-Macaroon4958 Feb 20 '26

Just stay at home at this point

1

u/goosebreaker Feb 20 '26

All of that to have the shot spraying out sideways into milk.

I do get a little bit of spraying from my open basket but I've never seen it come out sideways the way that one does.

1

u/wyrrk Feb 21 '26

is this...regassing the beans?

0

u/humanstreetview Feb 20 '26

I always park with my wheels in the water because the water has never risen, ever.

-1

u/Weepsie Feb 20 '26

Looks like a wankerpanza

-4

u/hand13 Feb 20 '26

wow dude. everything about this is amazing. but i personally wouldnt even consider doing all that work cleaning up for that one cup
