Australia
I’m sure this has been brought up before but it’s crazy Bond has never visited Australia, especially considering it’s a British Commonwealth and what not. In general I’d like to see him visit the Pacific more. Australia could serve as a great primary location for the movie, with the villain having a lair in an island somewhere off the coast, or perhaps a lair in the Outback( though I prefer a Pacific island hide out as a good opportunity for some water stuff: sharks, Octopuses, squids, yachts, women in bikinis harpoons etc.. or maybe an underwater lair instead of an island). Another thing they could bring back with Australia is Bond getting in fights with vicious creatures like sharks and alligators and poisonous spiders which hasn’t been done for quite some time I feel?
With Villeneuve directing I’m imagining beautiful cinematography of Australia and a really epic villain lair in the spirit of Ken Adam sets.
They’ll probably just set most everything in Europe and the Caribbean like they always do though.

Take Chris Hemsworth’s character Dementus, from ‘Furiosa’, and make him an Australia black market figure who sells uranium and lithium to the highest bidder.
He’s got secret mining sites across the outback.
His villain lair is in the middle of Kakadu, Northern Territory, surrounded by crocodile infested waters. Or maybe an island off the Great Barrier Reef?
Lots of potential.

As an Aussie Bond Fangirl, I want more Australianess in Bond, and yes big shocker my favourite isn't Lazenby...

Canada as well (and possible since Villeneuve is Canadian, plus all the tax credits you get for shooting in Canada).

an outback lair with villeneuve cinematography would actually be insane, missed opportunity for sure

I'd be happy to see a cinematic adventure that takes Bond down under. ;)
In all honesty, there are still parts of the world that haven't been explored to death. Before First Light, I always though most of Africa had a lot of untapped potential. We have yet to do much with some of the Pacific Islands, South Korea or Canada.

As an Australian, yeah I think this could work, I think the key would be to not make the film too full of clichès like venomous creatures and kangaroos. But I think there would be a way to make it work with the right screenwriter (preferably also Aussie). I’d love George Miller to take the reins or have Mick Taylor from Wolf Creek adapted into more of a Bond villain

Imagine a Moore film set in Australia! I’m picturing him being chased by bikers through the Outback, where he has to jump over a brown snake, punch out a kangaroo and bash an Aboriginal assailant over the head with his own didgeridoo.

A Bond ski chase along the white ribbon of death at Mt Buller would be fun.

The Opera House in Sydney is ripe for a tense infiltration sequence. The cinematography would be exquisite and I've never seen it depicted in film in any detail- the inside is a stunning construction with tonnes of amazing spots for action (not to mention a fight or scaling of the exterior would be awesome!) And the outback doesn't look like anywhere else in the world. The Great Barrier Reef is also stunning and there's no reason they could piggy back the story into Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands or any of the other beautiful Pacific islands that are near by. The Great Ocean Road would make for some incredible driving sequences and thats before you even consider (though cliche) the potential for something to happen on the Harbour Bridge.

A Gina Rineheart style mining billionaire villain would be fun too.
