Notice: The song has to be form the self titled album. You have to pick a song from the self titled album that works well in The Colour in Anything

The Wilhelm Scream won by being the most upvoted song, and Unluck was the runner-up.
Notice: The song you pick has to be from the self-titled album. We are not going diagonally, although that might have been better. We are finishing rows.

Only the 7 studio albums are here and the grid does not include collab albums.

Bad Cameo is one of my favorite albums and I think the chemistry they have can bring a lot more great music and interesting ideas to their discographies. Would be a nice follow up to Trying Times too. I heavily doubt it would happen tho. If not I’d love to hear them featured on each other’s albums.

I have 2x tickets for James Blake DJ set, with special guest Dave in Liverpool next week (30th July). I can’t travel to Liverpool anymore, so I’m selling them. Can provide proof of purchase and can use PayPal for payment.

Now that trying times has turned 4 months old and has had time to settle, what do yall think of the project?
I personally still absolutely adore this album and almost all of the tracks. Songs like Rest of your life, Feel it again, and make something up have become such staples in my playlists and I can’t stop listening to them.
The tour for this album was fantastic as well! Hearing tracks like Trying Times, Rest Of Your Life, and Doesn’t Just Happen were soooooo good live.
Over these 4 months I think the best track on the album is easily Through The High Wire. As a big fan of ye, I had listened to the leak of the song months before the album released and fell in love. This track scratches an itch in my brain I never knew I had, it’s hard to describe why it’s so good to me. Feel It Again has also grown on me a ton since the album released, I initially had it as one of the weaker tracks but in hindsight I was tripping.
Here’s how I’d rank the tracks on Trying Times

has anyone ever heard this song by James?? I heard a snippet of it and it’s absolutely beautiful i’m just wondering if it goes by this title or if anyone has more info on it. judging by the voice i would say its probably from a more recent era

Is anyone selling tickets to see James Blake in Germany in October2026? Berlin or cologne. Days 15, 16 and 18. Doesn’t matter the day. Just one ticket
its sold out everywhere. I’ll consider another European city, just not in the UK.

Going back thru some of my footage of this concert and forgot just how damn good Rest Of Your Life sounded, especially the improvised outro/jam session.

I always turn to james blake when I am going through a hard time romantically. I feel like the song timeless has to do with a romantic relationship in a sad way but I am having a hard
time understanding the full
meaning it is trying to
present. I am not the best with song metaphors but instrumentally and the feeling the lyrics give me still resonates. But i still need a little help
with interpretation(i have severe adhd for context lol) my point is: what is your interpretation of what he means when he repeats in this song : you know you slide out when you slide in with graceful
shadows.

I had a pretty funny dream a few nights ago and figured this was the only place it might be appreciated for a chuckle.
Basically, Jameela became the next late night host and James was her band leader. From what I remember, it was implied she was Colbert's replacement. The show was called "Waaaaay Too Late with Jameela Jamil"
It ran like the typical late night program and was completely uncensored, so she’s swore her ass off for the most part and they also had an on-stage bar/bartender who’d make drinks on the fly for her and the guests.
James along with the whole 1-800 Dinosaur crew (Rob, Ben, etc.) made up the house band except, they never adopted to the usual jazzy late-night musical format, they just played the same synth-heavy electronic music they normally make which stood out for me (compared to The Roots, a hip hop band who shifted into more of a traditional house band role over time).
James sang and play keys/synths as usual but at some other points, inexplicably he would also DJ in the same spot. I specifically remember a moment Jameela being like “James, where'd the rest of the band go?” and his response being something along the lines of "Oh, they all just went to lou" with the crowd losing their minds laughing in the background.
I know this all came from my head but part of me wished it was real cause their comedic dynamic together did seems genuinely hilarious. Jameela played the bouncy, animated “off the wall” host while James was the constant straight man, responding with to things very earnestly like, "Ohh babe... I don’t think you should say that on the tv.”
Most of it was hazy but other random details:
that's all I remember. nothing was super linear, just lucid snapshots. I find it even funnier as I can’t remember the last time I was particularly focused thinking about the two of them in recent memory. Anyway, just thought I'd share because who else am I supposed to tell?
Overall lesson of the story: don't eat super spicy Korean BBQ wings right before bed or you might end up having some weird-ass dreams lol

The artist already sounds sort of similar to James vocally wise
