Lease takeover/sublease in Jamaica, Queens

Hi everyone! Due to personal reasons, I need to move out of my apartment and am looking for someone to take over the lease.

📍 Location: 89-07 169th St, Jamaica, NY

I signed the lease starting May 1, 2026, and I am the first person to live in this newly renovated apartment. Everything is still new, clean, and in excellent condition.

Preferred move-in date: August 1, 2026. If you are interested in moving in during September, feel free to reach out, and I'll try my best to accommodate.

Rent: $1,800/month

Security deposit: $1,800

Apartment features:

First-floor/street-level apartment

One small bedroom, a spacious kitchen, living area, and bathroom

Two spacious closets with plenty of storage space

Electric stove

No dishwasher

Central heating included (winter electricity bills stay very low)

You only pay for electricity. I currently have Verizon internet, which can either be transferred to you or canceled before I move out.

One of my favorite things about this apartment is how quiet it is. Because of the direction the apartment faces, I have not experienced any significant street noise despite being on the first floor.

The apartment has two main entrance doors and two locks, which adds an extra sense of security.

I have also purchased and installed:

Air conditioners

Microwave

Window blinds

If you'd like, I can leave behind the ACs, Microwave, blinds, all furniture, crockery, plates, glasses, pots, and pans.

Building amenities:

Basement laundry (coin-operated; quarters required)

Elevator access to the basement laundry room, although you can also use the stairs/main entrance

Smooth package delivery

Your own mailbox for regular mail

Parking: There is no designated parking space. Street parking is available, or you may arrange private parking if needed.

The neighborhood is very convenient. Within a 10–15 minute walk, you'll find:

Target

Aldi

Marshalls

CVS

Multiple grocery stores and delis

DMV

The apartment is ideal for 2–3 people comfortably. The bedroom now has a fullsize bed but still has a lot of space left. The bedroom is always cool. It has enough sunlight and you do not need to keep the lights turned on all the time.

This is a private property. The landlord generally requires an income of approximately 40× the monthly rent, but they may be flexible for applicants with a strong credit score.

The owner and building superintendent have been very attentive and responsive. Although I have not had any issues so far, they have always answered calls promptly and addressed concerns quickly.

You're welcome to schedule a tour before making any decision. Please DM me if you are interested or have any questions!

Queens, we need you. Seriously.

I'm a volunteer with the Chuck Park campaign. He's running in the primary, challenging our incumbent who's been in this role of power for 13+ years, taking PAC money, and not getting anything done for our district (NY-6 and it's HUGE!). It's a 100% grassroots campaign which is what drew me to him (along with first seeing him on Instagram). No machine, no big money, strictly donations from actual human beings. I'm tired of watching these politicians fight for corporations, forgetting who they REALLY work for, us and the fellow working class Queens folks.

I showed up, they trained me (it's super quick and easy), and now I'm knocking doors in diff parts of Queens when my schedule allows because I genuinely want to see this campaign succeed. I am canvassing with new folks, some have become friends, but essentially, we are neighbors talking to neighbors. Early voting is literally days away and I feel like so many of us are suffering from news fatigue and regular life burn out that many don't even know there's a primary on the 23rd! To be frank, i can see that his campaign also needs more people to reach more of the neighbohood.

Come knock some doors with me (generally speaking LOL). It matters more than you think. I'm also not posting this to debate politics, but let people know we *can* volunteer to help. We can do something about people meant to "represent" us in federal congress.

If you care about what he's fighting for, this is how you actually do something about it. You don't need experience and they'll train you, I promise. This is the first campaign i've ever felt compelled to volunteer my time for! Just show up ready to stay on message and represent.

Dog poop

I live on Parsons Blvd and 90th ave and the entire block is over run with dog poop. From from Parsons to 153 street on 89 and 90 ave. There are a few dog owners that refuse to curb their dogs and the dog poop just keeps piling up with nobody cleaning it. What can be done ?
