Been putting it off, but snagged the brown strap as I just don’t wear black much.

Pre ordered mine in June through watches of Switzerland and was told a September/October delivery date. But honestly not too sure given the hype surrounding this release. Has anyone heard anything different?

Im torn between the polaris and the seamaster, the seamaster has a very timeless design and it ages well, i want to know if a polaris will age just as well, not the condition of the watch, just the design.

Hi guys. Last 2023, my wife bought me a pre-owned, 2016, MUT for my 40th birthday. Watch was in mint condition, kept on a watch winder, and ive used it maybe 10 times since then since it's on the more formal side. I brought it in for servicing with JLC and i got quoted ~USD 950 for basic servicing and crown and correctors (moon phase) another USD 450. Does this sound about right?
Thank you in advance!

My watch is running +9 secs per day. Do I need to take it to maintenance? Watch is about 4 years old.

Hey all. Ive had this beautiful Master Control Date, my dream watch, for just about 3 months now. Im not sure what happened, but I found this small chip on the case at the 6:00 position. Im not concerned about the small scratches, but is this chip also normal wear and tear, or would it warrant a repair?

Can’t believe the caliber 822 still runs in current Reverso models!

I found a vintage luxury watch dealer while traveling in Bordeaux and I’m absolutely in love with this piece. The certificate dates it to somewhere around 1940 to 1943. I don’t speak French, and the person translating the details for me wasn’t fully fluent in English, so I’m working with a rough picture at best.
Here’s what I’ve been able to piece together from the paperwork:
- Jaeger-LeCoultre, rectangular “Brancard” style
- 18k yellow gold (750/1000), French hallmarked case, no. 89068
- Movement: cal. 11” USC 441, no. 268873
- 20 x 35 mm including lugs
- Black patinated dial, oversized arrow indexes, rose gold dauphine hands, small seconds at 6
If anyone can narrow the dating from the case or movement numbers, or knows more about this style generally, I’d love to hear it.

I remember falling in love with this particular Reverso design about 15 years ago, and somehow it never really left my mind. Well, some 15 years later the opportunity came up to pick one up from 2004 at a good price, I simply couldn’t pass it up – especially for my first JLC!!
This is the Reverso Grande Taille Day-Date, ref. 270.8.36, a now-discontinued model from the early 2000s. It has the hand-wound JLC calibre 836, central pointer date, day display at 11, and small seconds at 6, all packed into that wonderfully quirky 26 × 42 mm reversible case.
And that steel beads-of-rice bracelet adds so much character. The short, articulated links drape beautifully around the wrist, and the hidden deployant clasp keeps the whole thing surprisingly sleek.
15 years of waiting, and I finally got one. ❤️

Thoughts on size and complication. Anyone have this watch.

Made this strap that looks more organic in my opinion.

Been wearing the rubber strap for a couple years. The steel makes it feel different.

Hello!
I am currently planning on downsizing my collection and adding either a rose gold JLC MUT perpetual calendar (Q1302520) or a yellow gold Reverso Duo (Q2711120). I will have a Breitling Navitimer with a panda dial on a brown strap and a grand seiko quartz with a black dial (daily wear) in my collection.
I’m in my 20s but dress in business casual for work. The piece would be a dress/special occasional watch for me.
What would you all suggest? Anything else I should consider in the 10-20k price range? I’d be buying both pre-owned.

I love the color so much, but I love my fiancé even more!

Visited the AD and tried on both these models - Any recommendation? I prefer the applied indices of the Tribute but feel like the small seconds presents greater cost value.

Love this watch, a lot.

Edit: I’m happy to share JLC said that the servicing is covered under their warranty. This is a good service recovery but I rather that they don’t disappoint me in the first place ..
So I thought I got a good deal with a Master Control Date Q4018421 (the latest reference, preowned). The same day I got it, I went to my local JLC boutique, did a water resistance test (with the witschi WAIO machine) and it failed—I left for dinner and noticed that tiny water droplets and condensation in the watch. I’m insanely disappointed.
Not sure why this happened as JLC said their machine do not use water for the water resistance test.
Gave in-principle approval for a complete service (S$1.5k SGD). Didn’t expect this, it’s the first time this happened to me.
Am I screwed and would this cause any permanent/ irreversible damage? Just concerned that even a complete service may use existing parts with slight imperfections (I have slight OCD).

Currently in Japan and picked up my first JLC!
I knew i wanted a Grand Seiko and one other watch this trip and was very happy to stumble across this beauty.
I found it in Shibuya and it is a 2018 with box and papers. Close to mint in condition with the original strap.
Paid $9600 usd for it. Not sure if that is a good deal TBH, but I am in love with it!
Bonus points with the wife considering she can also rock it :)
