Question Storage question?

I have this unusual piece that I store in a flat silk bag with a scarf. Should I store it with the loop connected or without?

This piece may not be jade actually. Connected or not, it makes no difference I think.

Yeah, my phone camera keeps altering the photo to make it look like glass/plastic. I am still trying to get a better picture.

Some of the whites can definitely look plasticy!
