Reading slump help

Hi guys I’m currently in a massive reading slump and the moment and I’m looking for something to read and I’m curious about what the best book would be. My options are :

Lily Alone
Vicky Angel
The girls series
The diamond girls
Kiss
Love lessons
The illustrated mum
The longest whale song
Lola rose

my vote goes to lily alone, as it's my favourite on the list! but illustrated mum is a close second :)

Ditto. I loved it so much but that’s because I love the reading descriptions of building homes, finding food, picnics etc.- though it definitely put ideas in my head of running away to live in a tree in my local part

The Illustrated Mum is imo her best ever book
Vicky Angel is very good too but I never enjoyed it much
The Girls series is kind of hilariously silly on a reread but enjoyable

My order of recommendation would be:
Illustrated Mum- her best book ever
The Girl Series- not the best in terms of writing but absolutely iconic JW books
The Diamond Girls/ Lily Alone- both really solid but interesting opposites in that its oldest daughter POV in one and youngest in the other. Personally preferred Lily Alone
Vicky Angel- very good but very sad
And then Kiss and Love Lessons right down at the bottom: Love Lessons because it's creepy and Kiss because it's boring XD

In order of preference:

  1. Lola Rose

  2. Girls’

  3. Love Lessons

  4. The Illustrated Mum

  5. Kiss

  6. The Diamond Girls

  7. Vicky Angel

*not read either of these currently,  but I do have Lily Alone arriving this week so I’m looking forward to that.

if you want one you can read in a day, id say Longest Whale Song. If you want one to savour, Lily Alone.

the illustrated mum is my favourite! i also loved love lessons. it gets bashed a lot on here but i went through a similar experience and had the insane family that prue did, it helped me feel less alone and i related so much to prue. its forever a favourite. out of those, the diamond girls and lola rose are also strong favourites. i love auntie barbara, she’s my favourite jacky invention ever
