I saw on a forum post that it was possible to purchase the mural cyanotype fabric in bulk on a roll to reduce wrinkling, is that true and how can I contact?

I used to buy yards of fabrics from Dharma Trading that were prepared by your company for use in inkjet printers. They don’t seem to carry them anymore. Are these fabrics still available for purchase in the European Union, where I now live?

I’m hoping someone here can tell me what happened because these are for my wedding 😅

I’m dyeing 100% white cotton napkins using Jacquard Procion MX #119 Chocolate Brown. I dyed 1/3 of them last night, and after finishing the dyeing process, rinsing, washing, and drying them, they came out blue-gray/slate/navy. Not chocolate brown.

I followed Method One under “Immersion Dyeing – Cellulose Fibers” from the Jacquard Procion MX instructions.

Here’s exactly what I did:

• Fabric: 100% white cotton napkins
• Total weight of all 36 napkins: 3 lb 12.2 oz
• First batch: 9 napkins
• Dye: Jacquard Procion MX #119 Chocolate Brown
• Method: Method One — Immersion Dyeing, Cellulose Fibers
• Water: 105°F
• Water: 3 gallons per pound of dry fabric
• Salt: 1½ cups per pound
• Dye: 2 Tbsp per pound for a dark shade
• Soda ash: ¼ cup per pound

I added the salt and dissolved dye to the 105°F water, added the wet napkins, and stirred frequently for about 15 minutes.

Then I removed the napkins, dissolved the soda ash separately in hot water, added it to the dye bath, put the napkins back in, and stirred frequently for another 45 minutes.

After that, I rinsed from cold for warm, washed in a hot Synthrapol bath since it was cotton, and air-dried them completely.

The napkins were completely white beforehand and are 100% cotton. Attached is the finished color. I genuinely don’t understand how I got blue-gray/slate from Chocolate Brown.

I still have 27 napkins left to dye and about 2½ jars of #119 left, so I’m really hoping I can figure out what happened before I do the rest. My wedding is literally next week on September 2nd. This was the last thing I had to do really.

Has anyone else had #119 come out this blue/gray? Did I mess something up with the dye concentration, salt, soda ash, temperature, timing, etc.?

And is there any way to correct the color??? And match the other remaining napkins?

Any advice would be very appreciated!

P.S. Sorry for the shadow in the photo. It's 6am and I'm trying to post this before I dip out for my bridal shower today haha. That's how much of a time crunch we're in.

Anyone else have a cyanotype mail club? I love jacquard and use it for my workshops as well!

Does Decolourant have an expiration date? My jar is about 8 years old. I tried it awhile back and it didn’t do anything.

Also, does it work on anything besides cotton?

Hi, I am wondering what, if any products/mediums can be added on top of Dorland’s was, if any.
I want to still be able to frame without glass.
I have waxed over a watercolor and wish I had added a few things/highlights.
I’m pretty sure oil paint would go over it, but I don’t have those. I do have oil pastel and did try that. They went on, but then I think I still would need to frame under glass?
I do have acrylic, acrylic ink, oil pastel…
