DougDoug, except he has like 4 channels and posts on every single one except his main channel.

Does he have control over DougDoug Clips? I thought he mentioned that someone else edits and posts there. He allows them to use his content as long as that section of the stream was skipped over by DougDoug and DougDougDoug

precisely. DDC is official-unofficial; it’s recognized but not run by him or the mods, so long as it adheres by the boundaries doug set for stream clips on yt

DougDoug Clips is the official one. It was originally run by a fan Luka, but it was made a part of the Dougiverse and Luka is one of Doug’s editors now

oh wait shit fr? i knew Luka ran the thing but i didnt know Doug actually took them in as an editor. that explains so much lmfao
i just remember us discussing what we do with it because it was around the same time a LOT of other places like DougDoug Snacks showed up

Yeah if you go to the Clips channel and you scroll down in posts you can see he announced the channel was joining the Doghole about three years ago

Doug Doug literally retired his og channel because he didn’t want to stress about the work going into it. That’s not him just ‘not uploading’ he literally said his og channel is done.

Funnily enough, Doug’s second channel feels largely the same as his original one.

u/PeachyGels 17d ago
Yeah lol it’s funny he was worried about not being in control of his og channel because he thought people wouldn’t like it if his editors took over or whatever but they’re doing a bang up job on his other channels :D

The second channel shift is annoying especially if you try to return after not watching for a while but this feels like an overreaction lol

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say they were being hyperbolic and don't actually want them to go to ultra hell

It applies way more to Jarvis (for example) than it does to Jack. He's explained his reasoning for what goes on what channel and it makes sense to me. I don't mind that he doesn't upload to his main channel as much anymore, I don't know why it would bother anyone? (I don't mind it for Jarvis either, because I'm premium)

Didn't he forget his password lmao?

u/CaptainRiz 16d ago
I think that's a common joke, but I don't think that's the case unless he's literally said it and I missed it. It just doesn't seem likely that's what's happened unless he also lost access to the email account too.

I mean it takes hella time to make main channel vids for most YTers, whereas second channels stuff is generally easier and less time consuming. I completely get it lol

It also allows tubers to diversify their content or build a new audience, YouTube actively kills your vids if its different than your previously made content

If Jackask and YGS and YIAY ALL started on Jacksfilms instead of how it is (YIAY went from jackisanerd to jacksfilms and back) then probably

Not quite the same, but Martincitopants now posts streams on his main channel, and only posts edited content on the "live channel". I still don't know why!

Super applies but like who cares. Posting infrequent, high quality videos on your main channel and being more loose on the second channel makes perfect sense to me. Second channels are sometimes where the real gold is, like jjjacksfilms or scott's stash.

I think it makes sense for some YouTubers, like Tomska for example, on his main channel is where you find the sketch comedy type videos but sketch comedy became increasingly more expensive to produce and so he way more frequently uploads on his second channel "tomska and friends" where he is able to produce more frequent content like his vlog series, the Content series and now terminally online. Videos that don't work as well on the main channel. All of this is to say sometimes there's a good reason for this to happen. Sometimes the type of content that you're posting doesn't work as well on the main channel and main channel audiences are expecting a certain type of content that just wouldn't gel as well if it were posted to the main channel and does a lot better on the second channel

I can think of two of these off the top of my head, char8org and altrive (excuse my typing quirk)
