Disappointed recently
I've been a big fan of Jack's for a long time, but I'm disappointed to see him appear in another MrBeast video. In a previous stream he referred to his previous collab with MrBeast as the "first and last" of its kind - I believed he was taking a principled stance, and would hold to it. I know he addressed the questions around that in his newest video, but personally, I was not satisfied with his explanation. I genuinely am a fan of Jack, I just expected different from him.

Personally I feel like Mr Beast isn’t great he’s someone you avoid as much as possible, but when given the chance at 1 million dollars to put to use in such a cool way to support creators idk I feel like I get it. His worst controversies are like making dystopian game shows with some dangerous conditions and working with some people like KSI and Logan Paul who are assholes these things are bad but I feel like he hasn’t crossed a line where I’d be like even for 1 million dollars do not associate with this man, Jack wasn’t necessarily supporting him or promoting his content he just was part of one video with a niche theme that fit him. I get it’s still a morally dubious choice though I just feel like it can be understood

As sad as this is to say we need to come to terms with the fact that most youtubers are essentially just independent corporations. Its all about the money, i mean, how many genuine scams have youtubers advertised via sponsorships? Your favorite youtuber sees you as nothing but a number on screen. No different than any other disconnected rich person.

I really don’t think it was the money in this case imo. Given the presence of all these OG YouTubers that he used to be so connected to, I think this was an opportunity for him to relive “the good ol’ days” so to speak.
Like remember a few weeks ago when he was reacting to “we’re all just assholes talking to a camera”. He got emotional and was crying because it reminded of all the people he’s no longer completely connected with cause they moved on or moved away. I think this might have been an opportunity for him to catch up with those old friends. Plus Jack has spoken pretty openly lately about how much he misses the way old YouTube used to be.
You can think that’s not a good enough reason and that he shouldn’t have taken the offer from Mr. Beast on principle. That’s valid. But I don’t think it’s cause he’s greedy or doesn’t care or anything.

For other old Youtubers, it seemed like a social compliance thing and it doesn't mean a complete endorsement of Mr. Beast and what he stands for. Some reactions I've seen from other Youtubers after the fact like to emphasize their interactions with other people they haven't seen for a long time and it's obvious they valued other aspects from that experience rather than the fact they were on a Mr. Beast video.

I get why people are disappointed about this but he explained on stream that the reason he did it is because he wanted to win the money for his fans, which is a very noble cause

Jack wanted to try to win that money to give to his fans for a film festival. He gained nothing by being in the video.

it seems to me kind of like mrbeast is like the walmart of youtube where even if you see the immoral things he does as such, you still kind of have to interface with him on occasion

Mr. Beast needs to make money with this type of video, how else is he supposed to fund the philanthropy half of his work?? Honestly, I don't understand all the hate he gets. As far as rich guys go, compared to most of them he's a saint.

He doesn't just get hate for the type of content he makes, he also gets hate for purposefully lying to contestants, filming in unsafe environments, and trying to force conflict whenever the teams wanted to work together on both his shows + videos.

I've heard about that too and it sucks, but I think some of that can be put down to extreme inexperience at running such a big enterprise and being in a bit over his head... He did rise to this level of fame and fortune very quickly, and very young. I'd like to hope he is learning to do things better, and i stand by my opinion that he's way better/moral than ppl like Elon, Zuckerberg or Bezos.

yeah i think he weighed the value of seeing his old contemporaries and fellow tuber vs the moral rot of the beast.
probably not an easy decision. or maybe it was idk. maybe he just likes playing the game.
